Something Wrong

Recommended Posts

Hrm, i got my 12 pack sampler in yesterday from H-S.com last night i tried out after nine and then i tried orange cream.

I dont know if i did something wrong with the waha, but ive smoked better bowls of HookaH HookaH shisha. The after Nine had no hardly any flavor, and the orange cream was very harshe orange when inhaling and very soothing vanilla on the exhale lol

i use a Widow Modern hookah from hookah hub for now... (waiting for my mya), and for the bowl of after nine i used a single coal... however half way through the bowl/coal i dumped out the after nine and setup a bowl of orange cream... and used the rest of the first coal and a new coal too

the after nine gave hardly any smoke... or flavor... while the orange cream gave off good flavor and smoke it was kinda harsh and gave me a head ache after the buzz :X

am i doing something wrong... any hints for using al waha shisha? any one have any insight on my problem?

If you are using quicklites I would bet anything your headache was brought on by using the old coal and the new coal, or 2 coals at once. At first my body didn't care about 2 coals, but now if I use 2 quicklites I get a headache, almost every single time with the Starlights. Never with one coal at a time, never, but with 2 at a time, its almost guranteed. I can use 2 3 kings and the headache is milder, but it is still brought on by those coals too sometimes. The Golden Jap coals, I have no headache whatsoever, so that is what i'd bet your headache on. As far as the no smoke, sounds like not enough heat. I would try one coal again, and put some kind of windcover over it to concentrate the heat. As far as flavor, pack it loosely. FINALLY< AND THIS IS IMPORTANT. I have found that there are tremendous, yes tremendous variations in both flavor and smoke thickness based upon the atmospheric conditions. I don't know where you are from but in the dead heat of summer in Texas with thick humidity, the taste and flavor aren't that great. Now if I step into my house with the AC on, The hookah is amazing. Take this into consideration too bro. And I am not crazy lol, it really makes a huge difference. Good luck.

it should only make that much of a difference if you dont acclimate it...tangiers is one that people always say you have to let sit out and acclimate...but it helps for every kind of tobacco....the reason why its better inside is because thats probably where you keep it and what humidity the tobacco is at during that time...let it sit where you are gonna smoke it (out of the sun) for a couple hours and see if that helps you smoke it outside...

Whats your setup?
After-Nine is one of the most flavorfull tobaccos ive tried.
If its not smoking well and you're not getting flavor, you may want to try more coal.

Bleh, first tub of A9 I've ever gotten was wonderful down to the last. Second tub turned bitter over the course of 1 1/2 weeks. Strangest thing ever...

Believe me if you are not getting smoke then you are doing something wrong!!!!

I mostly only smoke Al-Waha and it is the best

I get lots of smoke.....

I don't know if it is your hookah maybe????

What kind of head are you using? How many holes are you poking? Make sure the coals are RED hot all the way around before trying to smoke.

Al Waha always produced good smoke and flavor for me.. If you aren't getting either, you MUST be doing something wrong. Also, remember that 50g samplers generally have less flavoring, but they still produce good taste.

Al Waha isn't Hookah Hookah either.. Personally I think HH is kind of trash. Al Waha is going to kick your ass a bit until you get used to REAL tobacco.

One thing did strike me: you bought 50g sampler packs, right?

I've found out than many sampler packs have completely different flavor (smoke, taste, ect) than full tubs - After Nine is no exception. I ordered a 50g pack that sucked - ordered a 250g tub and it's had become one of my "staple" shishas.

Same goes for the Orange Cream. In fact, Al Waha or any brand... perhaps this could explain the lack of taste.

Lack of smoke? As the others have said, something in your set-up must need tweaking. Al Waha smokes like a champ, rarely harsh, but does have a strange "sleeply" buzz effect - that may have been mistaken as a mild headache.

Acclimating tobacco? Atmospheric conditions affecting how tobacco smokes? Poppycock! wink.gif

It could be not enough tobacco in the bowl...try adding more. That seems to be good advice for Tangiers. wink.gif

Al Waha does have nicotine in it. If you are used to H-H, it may quite a shock for you. wink.gif

Anytime man biggrin.gif

What Pb failed to mention was that we only set him straight after about 45 minutes of taking the mick and laughing with tears running down our eyes wink.gif

Hehe! Damn glad to hear it's smoking good now biggrin.gif

Man, Al Waha is one of my favorite brands of shisha, right up there with Layalina. In my experience Al Waha always has this great smell, is very juicy, and is affordable.

I did a mix of about 80% Vanilla, 20% After Nine the other day, god I'd kill to be smoking a bowl of that right now.
