hookahlife
Hey am,Most people smoke with quicklights such as Three Kings, Rolland, Easy Lite or Starlight. The Japanese style quicklights usually interfere less with the tobacco but for minimal affect on the tobacco we recommend natural finger coals such as Sultan or Nour. There are also a few proprietary brands out there of which the most interesting is Smileys Coconut Coals, which are cool because you can re-use them.Hope this helps. mrmonk7663
Al Fakher online had those easy lights for $2.50 a box the other day. I personally use the Golden Canary Japanese Coals, like in the link above. They rock!!! When i'm out and about in public I use some quicklights though, as once when I busted out the blow torch the surrounding patrons got scared shitless haha so I thought it might be best to not do that anymore :-)
Shifty
"have you tried the new starbuzz natural charcoal? if not try it" And where would these be?
Shifty
But aside from that, I have many different types of coals and so far found that Naturals do offer an all around better tasting session, but you really have to work for it:) They take some going to get lit. amnite
Just my final question, do those japanese coals produce less carbon monoxide? I will most probably be smoking it in my room next to the window with both windows wide open

I will most probably be smoking it in my room next to the window with both windows wide openI am not entirely sure, but usually different coal types have different amounts of carbon monoxide....but I have heard that the jap coals are the way to go.Also a general rules to go buy :1) Quick lites you should always lite outside 2) Never put a quick lite on top of the already burning coal that is on your hookah ( Because once it starts liting, the extra smoke will overwhelm the shisha tobacco)Enjoy!-H&S
amnite
Thanks for that... I burned more things by lighting them individually with a lighter than by this method. Maybe it's because I have more practice, but I've had no problems with it thus far. Also, I don't get any more QL flavor in my shisha from this lighting method than when I forget to use it (rarely, anymore).

jaker29902
yeah I use golden roll quicklites, and normally I dont have a problem with lighting one, and then placing another on top of it to get it going, however I do take the top one off as soon as it starts sparking
