blkgenji
Newbie Question - Should "Unused" Shisha be stored in Refridgrator (to keep cold) or should it be kept at room temp ?
Calcartman
Refridgeration removes moisture from the tobacco, so definitely not in there. In a room temperature, sealed, area is the ideal storage from what i gather (out of sunlight helps)
Big Boss
I'd say that if you have it in a ziplock bag, out of sunlight, everything should be peachy-keen.edit: and yeah, the 'fridge isn't very kind to shisha. Brownman18
i leave mine in the nakhla boxes in the wrap and the plastic bag in the box. in my basement and neve rhad a problem i store about 10 boxes at a time till they run out, so some flavours stay unused but opened for amonth or two till re use and no loss of flavour here

The first couple of days the Shisha had a very nice bouquet (taste) last night I noticed my favorite (Nakhal - Mango) had a very flat taste. Thanks all, I am running to the fridge now to begin unloading everything into ziplocks and store in the cabinet.
john_smith
Sorry if this has already been asked, but what is the general shelf-life for Shisha when it is stored in normal conditions (well sealed, room temperature, out of the sun etc.)? mrmonk7663
While I haven't done this yet, I am going to perhaps as early as tomorrow. Plastic bags and little plastic containers are nice, but Glass containers are better. If you go to a place like Hobby Lobby or those little arts and crafts stores, they usually have many glass jars with rubber/foam seals and latches that would keep the shisha great, and preserve all possible flavor with no chance of any leeching. With plastic, there is a chance of leeching from the plastic to the shisha.Mike

So im assuming 2 years but i wouldnt know, I ending up finishing all my shisha within a month or 2 from purchase date.
Sonthert
Unopened, 2 years is whats on the packages. If the package is unopened and the seal not compromised or leaky, I would guess about 5 years. Opened, depending on the type of tobacco. A high water content tobacco will probably take three-six months to dry out. Towards the high side if the humidity tends towards being high where the tobacco is stored. Towards the low side if the tobacco is stored in a dry climate. A low water content tobacco should last 5 years. Some flavors will fade and evaporate over time.Edit: The refrigerator will speed up the drying effect of the tobacco. Its dry. Like Yash said. Store it in a cool damp place, sealed up as best as possible. Edited July 16, 2007 by Sonthert
