amnite Posted July 16, 2007 Share Posted July 16, 2007 argh havent phoned up hookahcompany yet, I did phone them but my phone card ran out halfway during the ring so I gotta go out soon and buy a fone card and hookahcompany is located in california and I live in the UK, so thats 8 hours backwards.. hookahlife Posted July 16, 2007 Share Posted July 16, 2007 Hey Everyone, We have a lot of friends overseas especially in Eastern Europe, so you could imagine the cost of shipping to them. A lot of companies out there use an API system on their site to get real time quotes, however with recent upgrades to USPS's prices, API systems that were linked to USPS aren't able to calculate shipping rates with 100% accuracy, and hence you see large discrepancies in quotes from vendor to vendor. We were having the same issue (until we found out about USPS's upgrade to their systems and realized why we were having problems). What we did to combat the issue was to do some research and create "fair priced" flat rate shipping quotes based on weight ranges for international orders.I hope this helps clarify some potential questions our friends across the pond have. -Eugene Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
