wyteboy
I have smoked 2-3 bowls in one night and still the water doesn't really look dirty or cloudy....does it mean my hookah is not filtering properly? does your guys' water get real nasty after smoking? yashman19
For me..it depends on how gooey and wet my tobacco is. If it is really wet and drippy, it ends up going down into the water chamber and staining the water brown. If the tobacco is dry, the water doesn't look that bad, maybe a slight tint of brown but not bad. Not quite sure how your hookah wouldn't be filtering properly...as long as your water is bubbling, doesn't that mean air is being pulled up through the water? Thats all the filtering that goes on when smoking hookah, and people say the water doesn't even do that much filtering, more just cooling the smoke. mushrat
yashman is correct. which is why all the bs about the water filtering out all the bad stuff in the tobacco is mostly that..BS. The smoke isn't really in the water long enough to filter much out...Its better than smoking it direct, but cooling the smoke is all its good for for the most part. Remember my earlier comment about you being a bit naive? Quit worrying and enjoy!
wyteboy
LOL mush!! I remember hearing the hookah filtered out like 80 percent of the nicotine or something? I guess I was just dumb to believe that Gonna smoke a nice phat bowl of strawberry before I go to sleep...!
cypress
Here is my thoughts. I dont think water does much filtering. Think of it as blowing the smoke while making a bubble (you know the container with the bubble maker that kids play with). I did that and when the bubble closes the smoke is trapped inside untill it bursts. Same priciple as the smoke goes down the shaft and into the water. The water creates the bubble/air pocket then bursts when it surfaces. I would like to see a test that uses one with water and one without to see the diference. I think more of a filtering action might occur if a difuser was used or a mist of water was sprayed directly at the smoke to maybe catch some of the bad particles. Although some of the filtering may occure regulary by catching the heavier particles that settle to the water after each puff.
