First New Order (and Post!) In A Long Time

So, it's been a long time since I've placed an order anywhere, and since it's the summer and I'm not stuck in a 400 person lecture hall for most of the day, I'm not on as much as I used to.

In June I went to Ecuador for 3 weeks to visit my girlfriends family. I took the hookah and the shisha, left the coals because I didn't know about the airlines and I didn't want to be coal-less when I got home! I wrapped it in a blanked and put it in my carry on. No problems. I got a few looks at security and one guy said "Is that what I think it it?"

So I got to Quito, Ecuador and found an Arabic store that had hookahs in the windows. So I got some coals (Three Pyramids. I couldn't find any reviews, no website, nothing. They said they were quick lights but they weren't, and they tasted like a bag of asses the first go around. I finally figured out the trick to them, and it was all good) and 2 50g boxes of "Prince Shisha" (never heard of it. Tasted terrible, but it might have been the coals). Smoked on the porch almost every night, and it was good.

About a week before I was going to go home, we had just finished and I started taking it apart. I grabbed the hot bowl with the tongs and put it on the table. Apparently, I didn't put it down flat and it fell over. Freaked out a bit, but no harm done. Then, the bowl rolls. Right off the table. I threw my foot out to catch it, but it didn't help. The bowl smashes on the tile floor. So we go back to the Arabic store and buy a $4 clay bowl. It's not exactly the right size, and my screen doesn't really fit on it, but the whole things works alright.

Fast forward to last night. I was christening my buddy's new apartment with the hookah, and we had it all set up and we were waiting for the coals. My buddy doesn't think the bowl is on tight enough so he pushes it down. Thats when a chip pops off the bottom of the bowl. A chip big enough to show the top of the stem. After I get over being pissed at him, I reposition the bowl with the paper towel (my gromet never worked), so the towel covers the stem. Then I push down lightly on it, only to have another chip in. Commence duct taping. It worked fine.

But now, I'm really desperate for a bowl! So I figure, what the hell, I'll splurge and get a phunnel/scalli bowl. I've been interested since I heard about them.

sorry to burst your bubble but that was probably the worst flavour i have ever smoked.
after smoking one bowl, i threw out the rest of the box.
maybe you will have better luck with it.
