When I used an absolut bottle or any booze bottle the grommets wouldn't seal correctly, I had to resort to electrical tape. after that it sealed pretty well.When I used a crush bottle, the grommets fit perfectly. The Witch smoked very well considering how small it is. You could consider the Witch to be the same level of qaulity as a junior modern. The box doesn't lie, I plugged it onto a crush bottle, a leinenkugel bottle, and a wine bottle with success. You could lift the bottle from the stem and it would stay on.I moved on to my collection of booze bottles. The Absolut and Svedka bottles both had larger diameters and needed electrical tape to seal. The grommets served useless when dealing with the booze bottles.The way the stem works is that the bottle plugs into it instead of the stem plugging into the base. You plug the grommet on top of the bottle then slide the stem into it. When they say suction, they mean that you can suction the bottle to your table top. It is a sleeve that you put your bottle in to make it more steady. I think it was the hose, but even when I tried my Mya hose, it still tasted funny. We did take some of your suggestions for the HoboHookah, and now were offering a Nalgene bottle if you really wanted a base with it. We really like the Nalgene bottle because you can take it to bars without drawing unwanted attention. Last week we were at the Bohemian Beer Garden in Queens, NYC smoking the Hobo. It was a perfect place for a smoke. I think we even converted a few of the cigarette smokers around us to the Hookah Dream: I have tried to setup some comparisons, but haven't gotten any details nailed down yet. Ill be in Madison, WI this week with a Mya Diva, a Witch and the HoboHookah, if there is anyone in that neck of the woods who wants to try all three. My opinion is that the Hobo smokes like the Diva, which makes sense (similar stature and materials), but its much more compact and indestructable. It looked like it would break when I took it out of the box, and the stem doesnt screw together very tight, but it sealed perfectly.2. It also smelled like gasoline out of the box, so it had to go through multiple washs, so I am now fearing rust.3. I was suprised when I put it on a bottle, I used a smirnoff bottle and it worked great, good seal and all.4. The little thing gave some pretty thick clouds of smoke...I was very impressed.5. BUT, the hookah kept making the bottle want to tip over, so it was a little awkward, and the smoke got so hot it became harsh, I'm thinking of not using a whole 3 kings 33 mm next time.OVERALL 5/10worth the 18 bucks and its a nifty little thing that will gain some interest from your friends. Macho555 Posted July 25, 2007 Share Posted July 25, 2007 (edited) I just got mne the other day...I can't quite get the phunnel bowl to fit on it, the grommets just refuse to match up for me so that its a tight fit. I got the same impression, that its a cheapo sorta thing...but I paid 18 bucks, so I couldn't expect anymore. I havn't managed to smoke out of the thing yet, but I noticed right away that a beer bottle didnt make the best base. Smirnoff Vodka bottle worked awesome though, and I can't wait to get an empty Jieger bottle to hook it up to.I may actually go ahead and still grab the Hobohookah, depending on how well people say it smokes.
