IDMT13
Does any hookah site sell autoseal adapters that can be fitted to an existing multi-hose hookah? Something that would fit in the place of the grommet between the hose and the stem? I have an egyptian hookah from hookah-shisha.com and a need for auto-seal has come up (people complain about having to plug up the hose...). I know I could have bought the syrian hookah from there with auto-seal built in, but I couldnt afford one at the time. So, is anyone selling autoseal apaters? cypress
I am not sure if you can find something like that they actually sell like that. What they do sell is one that you would have to unscrew the exisxting adapter on the stem and replace it with an autoseal. You might can make something from an auto parts store. Back in the day there use to be quite a bit of vacuum lines in an engine. There was some sort of valve that you had to have for one sort of application and it would allow air to go one way. It would prevent a negative vacuum in the line. I am not sure if they make one that big but it might be worth a short asking.
IDMT13
What you're talking about is the idle air control valve, easy to find on ebay from old GM vehicles. That's not quite what I'm looking for. The syrian hookahs with auto-seal built basically use ball bearing system similar to the air valve on typical one hose hookahs, but reversed so that when you pull, the ball bearing attached to your hose opens for airflow, and the other hoses ball bearings get pulled in to close them up. There could be a way to fabricate them from existing valves, but without a machinist with the know how to do it, it may not be possible unless you have all the parts necesarry. I was hoping somone here, or elsewhere, already thought of this.

Still fun but...
Voski
The auto seals are actually vary basic on the myas. There is just a hole drilled in the port and a ball bearing is dropped in. Then a screw is threaded through the hole so the ball bearing can't come out. It shouldn't be to hard to replicate.
Capt. Morgan
I'd suggest telling the people who griped about it either get over it.
