frankenstein_666
OK, now I know this does not apply to ALL shisha..but I got new coals last night (3 kings) and I decided to use my medium funnel, packed in to 1/4" from the top with Layalina Peach. I am a newbie and have been trying defferent ways to get the heat just right for this brand. I used 2 coals and it was PERFECT! I got major thick smoke, major flavor and I FINALLY could not see the stem in the base!A buddy and I could not stop....we have tried almost every flavor of Layalina and 2 other coal brands and found them to not do the trick. I was using some "Easy lite" brand and those are bad ...I then switched to another easy light but with no flavor and a larger 40mm coal but I could only fit one of those saftely on the bowl...So, after smoking hookah for 1 month now AND reading everyones comments for us new guys...I finally got it! Graciass!Frank.

ahwahoo2006
Yes, definitely. In my opinion, they are the best quicklights on the market./400th post!

oggie505#2
it does take a bit of time to get it down good, and even veteran smokers will have a bad smoke sometimes
Lucias_D
^true dat. It took lots of trial and error for me to get the smoke I wanted. Not to mention there is a lot of variance in setup depending on the brand of shisha and coals you use. Good work!
symptom CY
3 Kings are the bomb for sure. I use 40mm halves almost exclusively -- 3 for a funnel, 2 for everything else...

SmokeMojo
3 Kings FTW! They are the best quick lights I've ever used.. I like Japs better, but only if they're not an off brand..
Sonthert
I seem to have been overpacking my bowls lately, last night I packed a winner, too. I know how ya feel.
KillZedKill
I've been slowly trying to step away for the quicklight charcoals. Ive got a box of easy lite Japanese coals now. They are the little brick looking ones that have the silver coating. It seems a lot of people on here prefer these anyway, my friends bought the box a while back thinking they were the sparkling quicklights, but they never bothered to figure out how to get them going well. So I received the box with only a few pieces missing =]
Hobocans
I like Starlight. The place I go to has japanese 60mm, 40mm Three Kings and 40mm Starlight, and I like the starlight the most. The other two aren't bad though.I was impressed with the Golden Coals I got with my last hookah purchase. When I first tried those a couple years ago, they tasted like crap, but these ones are alright, definitely smokeable (but not 3Ks or SL smokeable)
frankenstein_666
3 Kings charcoal rules baby...yeah! They are a smaller charcoal than the Akhla Ultimate Hookah Charcoal and they have less gun powder. I even think they last longer and 2 of these babies is WAY better than the 1 Akhla charcoal. I think the Akhla is like 40mm and the 3 kinds is smaller?..So, I decided to use 2 of the 3 kings and boom!...I was set for like over an hour!I just packed a Layalina Watermelon too and the EXACT same smoke, flavor etc....I NEVER experienced this with the other coals and the way I was overpacking the bowl before. I can post pics...for all the newbies if you like...or at least those that like the Layalina brand.Such a beautiful thing
