Just Like Nour?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys Whats up? So I've been looking for Nour Coals around in the area because i didnt want to buy it online due to S/H charges... so i saw a bag that said Diamante... They look exactly like Nour coals do... (finger style) do you think they would be just as good?

Also, i personally hate black licorice taste (no offence to those of you who dont) and i read reviews about the GS AF ESK APPLE... I tried getting a 50 G from BNN, but with my luck, they ran out of it in stock nor will they be getting it again... do you guys know any other place i can get a 50 gram bag of GS AF ESK  APPLE? I've seen a 250 G but i dont wanna buy it... i wanna actually try it out first... Thanx in advanced, looking forward to your posts... Bye

About the coals, no they arn't exactly like Nour's. For one, Nour's texture is a lot "rougher" than the diamante. The diamante's are very smooth, and hard as hell to break. Both brands come in long sticks that you need to break.
I know the Nour coals are natural, and am pretty sure the diamante's are as well. One thing though, the diamante brand burns much hotter than the Nours. I bought a bag of them before because they were similar in price, but the store was all out of Nours. Since they burn hotter, I had to adjust my methods a bit, but they still smoked fine. Just remember to get the coals fully lit before pulling on the hookah. Once fully lit, there is no odor.
Hope this helps a little.

From what it sounds like (and correct me if I'm wrong), the nours must be very similar to the Al Kemma natural wood coals.  I have never smoked with the nours, but I love the Al Kemma coals because they leave no flavor (which is unusual because they actually smell slightly like barbecue coals when burning).  Plus, I buy them for $3.75 a large bag!
p.s. what is the deal? Even BNN is going to stop carrying 50g of ESK APPLE?????????????
Maybe what the deal is that there are not enough 50 g sells to justify
keeping it in stock. I bet their market are the 250 and up.
Has anyone ever used Abu-Alabed natural coals?  Funny, because the entire packaging is exactly the same with just a different name.  Perhaps Nour has 2 names?
i use to buy abu alabed at a store here in stockholm and its says made in damascus syria on them and sometimes its says nour on the package but the bag lookes the same as the abu - i think its from the same company-you can try to e- mail them and ask

hookaman:  Yes, I do buy them at a local store.  Unfortunately, that store is located in Niles, Illinois (a suburb of Chicago).
mushrat:  No, they come in a red paper bag.  I have, though, seen the ones that you speak of at the very same store.  Are they any good?

The orange plastic bag ones are just fine. Its bulk charcoal so you have to break it up yourself into usable chunks. I like this better personally, for the ma'asells that require more heat, I just use a bigger chunk. If you can find it locally, read the address on the bag, its a riot.
I've just switched to another bulk charcoal that the guy at the store Where i've foound mya hoses and those cool bowls says he uses at home. Abu Abdo charcoal. It comes in a medium sized cardboard box and in the upper corner says "For Water Pipes" Everything else is in arabic. Works great.
