Leaked Discount Codes For Hs

Recommended Posts

And once again i'll tell you that I've mentioned it to the Admin and there seems to be no hurry....perhaps we should move the discount code threads into the "premium members" section. Thats one way of making sure you're a registered user. dry.gif

And that is exactly what I was stressing about the other day with the topic I posted about discount codes!!!!

My idea still stands that you make a section where you can go make a post asking for a discount codes,
and then a moderator has to decide if you are a "true member" or not and if he thinks that you have not just come to this forum on your first post asking for discount codes , then the moderator would PM you the code!!!

mush: if the mods can reorganize the discount codes thread to have all of them (MN isnt there, I don't think Hookah Life is in there), and the list became very useful, I'm sure few people would have a problem shelling out $10 for the discount codes. I know I wouldn't

*SIGH* like the mods aren't busy enough... cool.gif

It would have to be a thread, perhaps pinned, that says "request discount codes here."

The people would have to bother to read the pinned post, which almost no one does, and put in the request. Then we mod's would have to send them a PM with the codes? Great fun.

But what WILL happen if we do that is people are still gonna post "looking ofr discount code" as a topic and SOMEONE on the forum is going to post them for them, I put money on it. Perhaps the codes should be changed by the companies every 6 months or something. OR we could not worry about it and let the companies involved get involved if the code thing really concerns them. ph34r.gif

lol mush I wouldn't have all the mods do that >.<

if everyone is too cheap to become a premium member, why not make like a second tier, a $5 tier and everyone can get the codes there.
is this forum running vBulletin?
i know you can add censor words to vBulletins, so say some guy comes and asks for the codes, and someone is stupid/nice enough to offer them up, they can get censored automatically by the forum, and then they dont get the codes!
yahahahahaa

That's too much work for mods.

Easiest thing is either Premium section or a new section that requires X amount of posts (it'd be advisable to not give out the value of x...then people will just spam threads).

Of course getting the Vendors directly involved would be the best route as well.

All of what you suggests requires Admin level involvement we do not generally have here. WHich has it's ups and downs. Lets just let the vendors take care of themsleves and take action if they request we do....

Yeah sorry I really did not want to sound like I was overloading the mods.....and I know that alot off people don't generally read pinned stuff and then yeah ofcourse you do have the problem that some nob would just give the guy who posts a topic asking for codes.

Oh and I also understand the Admin problem.........sad

But could you guys not get more mods then or something (oh right that would mean admin involvment) *SIGH*

I still think we must do something....its hard though, i know.......think guys/gals think
!!!!!

My opinion is similar, if you want them organized, they would be in a premium member section and we'd get a stipend. If nobody cares that they're thrown all over the place, then nothing has to change.

I just think it is an abbuse of them, because my guess would be (why we where given them) is that we do quite a bit for the company's that give them to us!!!

So I think we should not abbuse this privelage that has been given to us.....but essentially if no one cares then I suppose why bother doing it....

wuts the point of having a discount code if you gotta pay 10 bucks for it. And anyways ive already discussed how the shipping cross cancels the code. why buy online when i have a smokeshop/hookah lounge down the street that i can buy cheaper at. Frankly it should be the online stores business and not ours on how they handle codes. They mark up hookahs and other things from 100-150% im sure theyre making money for the most part.

Like ive said before they do the discount codes for more business from the forum members, making a big fuss over this isnt going to help and i know alot of ppl agree that the discount codes bring new ppl to the forum.

the companies are generous enough to give us discount codes, its not liek they owe it to us, and because of that, it becomes OUR responsibility. Not everyone lives in so-cal and has shisha shops out the ass, my nearests shisha store is 15 miles away and the markup is pretty bad. And your theory on shipping cancelling the code really isnt true either, if you make bulk orders like me the code will take off a good 15, 20 dolalrs, and shipping is like 6, 7 dollars.

and in the long run, paying the 10 dollars for codes is negligible, because a) you are helping the upkeep of the forum, and b ) from all the money you save, its like just not using the code online once.

also, if you just drive down the street to buy shisha, then why would you complain about paying for the codes if youll never use it?

most ppl in so cal do. lol at least in my area but thats not the point because alot of people dont have access to stores. i get my shisha for about the same if not a lil cheaper from small stores cuz i can bargain with them. IMO it does the most part cross cancel the shipping, i know alot of ppl would agree. Thats the problem with buying online. its the damn shipping. Upkeep is paid by hookah kings i believe lol :-P and anywho im a cheap poor bastard like some here :-D.

I buy from time to time online because one alot of shops dont have the things i want like phunnel bowls with mods. Or stores out of the shisha that i like. Thats the positive about online because of the variety of things you can get.

The companies gave these codes to this community because they like to support the hookah community, and two because of sales. Believe what you want but they are making money from the codes.

I'd love to agree with you here, SSO, but from what I've seen and been told, the Admins (aka HookahKings) do fuckall around here.  So it's hard for me to justify tossing in that $10 for a lifetime membership if this place never improves.  They're just milking you for some cash.

buying/renting host servers, renting a domain, the purchase of and IBPro Board, thats all a money expense, and can run pretty high yearly. They may not do much Administrative duties around here, sure, but this place keeps running, and thats work enough.

I agree with SSO for the most part. However the 'Pro' forum was purchased by members. Hence the creation of the 'premium' members.

I would imagine any donations made since we got teh board would go towards upgrades maybe?

Do you guys think someone should email them and tell them that the forum code has been compromised and to please make a new one for us???

1. I don't think they would/care.
2. You'd probably have to actually compromise the code for them to see that it needs to be fixed.
