ye abut he may not like opd, but if the customers like the smileys and are willing to pay, then he has to order it, but i think he felt enough was enough

i think his customers are misinformed and he may have oversold the tobacco. Regardless the great thing about business is their are alternatives. If a pizza store closes down in your area are you gonna stop eating pizza? No you go and find a comparable place and continue to eat what you enjoy

I have a theory.... OPD = Smiley or his brother!

I can't believe they would have found a distributor with such piss-poor business skills.
I was thinking the same thing too. It just seems like too much of a coincidence for there to be TWO people with less than common-sense professionalism...

Also, I vote for Mush to show us big smiley's big words, censored or not! Edited by symptom CY

Yes I know, but my customers like the stuff and I'm there for the customers.
So I ordered 2 kilos. I wait a few days for shipping notiification, nothing. So I call, an am told he's waiting for the newest batch to be done so he can send me fresh stuff. Promises me it will be out friday or monday. Monday I contact him again. Says he has tracking info for me. So I try the number. Nothing. call him back, he says he can track it and that its due the 18th. So I wait until the end of the day yesterday, no package. I track it again. their computer says it was picked up from HIM yesterday (the 18th) at 4:54 pm and is due friday. So I've had it. My customers will just have to find new favorites. First the QUADRUPLED wholesale price by the Kilo, then the inability to get my the shipment in anything resembling a timely manner with a total lack of notification as to the delays. He may distribute other things real well, but this isn't the way to run a shisha wholeale business.

I am refusing the shipment when it ever actually arrives and contacting my bank if I get any arguement about a full and total refund.

I have also spoken with the owner of one of the major online sites. He says their samples were either tasteless or the ones they could taste just weren't worth it. Sounds like the same old Smiley's to me.

ya, i know, but this one is directly related to an actual order and can actually do some good for others who may be thinking of carrying the stuff....

My pleasure...glad I was able to finally get it right and be in a position to put one in.

heh you should probably put a warning notice next to Tangiers... "may kick you ass"

and its sad to see a hookah lover (smiley) be so much of ridiculous.
I'd say as a whole hookah enthusists are calm, educated, and (generally) compasionate people.

If Smiley is the same as OPD then his IP logs will show his location (unless he was using a proxy, however this would involve some intellect).

I am also on the edge of my chair waiting for mush;s convo summary smile.gif

This does not surprise me at all. Once we got a big shipment of smileys in and they were all soaking wet because half of the jars were open. Tarik and I opened the box and it looked like a massacre over 200 jars all sticky and wet, that isn't where it ends, so we weight the shisha on a scale and they were all 50 grams short, so we contact them and finally get the 50 gram packs and have to personally put 50 more grams in each of the jars and clean them off which was NOT fun.. took hours....just my 2 cents..

Feh. It's shameful to hear how badly things have gotten. I was always fairly confident that eventually smiley would join the ranks of shishas like tangiers and fumari...but it seems like its gone off in the completly opposite direction...

I too would like to hear mushya conversation, but he doesn't seem the type to analog his business conversations down in a forum.

The new jars are by no means 50g either. I just weighed em out, 50g short. I've only smoked one bowl of peach and watermelon and there is around 70g in each. I smoked out of small phunnel with my own mod so it was packed pretty lightly.

I can say fairly authritiativly (even if i can't spell it). that OPD and Smiley are not the same guys. Having spoken to both on the phone. They have, however, been friend for about 11 years according to OPD.

I'm not opposed to posting the Smiley messege, it has nothing to do with business I assure you...just name calling and a childish instastance that I know what i did to piss him off, several instances of calling em a liar, but refuses to tell me what I lied about, "you know" he keeps saying, and then sulking. Oh yes, I forgot a few idle threats, meaningless rants, and an accusation that I'm breaking laws all over the place, with a refusal to elaborate. Plus, just to make it funnier, there were 4 e-mails after his initial e-mail said he wasn't going to waste his time e-mailing me anymore. rolleyes.gif

I like how OPD & Smiley always make these accusations of someone breaking some law; yet they have no idea of what the law really states. If anyone is breaking a law, it's one of those two (not saying they ARE, but they're more likely to be...).

Aww, wittle Smiley Wiley screwed up and doesn't know what to do but resort to childish accusations and name calling.

Seems kind of like the reaction we recieved from OPD on a couple occassions. Smiley needs to just realize he brought this upon himself. He has made several NO-NO's already from what I can tell while running a business. He hired a FRIEND as a distributor, and as you well know.. In the business world, you have to have the ability to tell friends no, or fire them if you were so inclined to give them a job.

Another simple rule that anyone who runs a business should know.. "The Customer Is ALWAYS Right" No matter how off the wall and ridiculous their accusations are, you have to be somewhat agreeable with them. Of course there are occassions that would render this rule void.

The last thing a professional business owner should do is insult a client or make false accusations or threats towards them. When you insult the consumer base, they insult your business, in the form of your pocket book.

If they don't already have a professional mission statement, I'll take the time and my savvy advertising skills to make one for them.. Just out of my generousity and concern for their business' well being:

"We here at Smiley's Sexy Shisha, have no regard for customer satisfaction and we know that we are completely right about everything. If anyone ever questions our product, we shall tell them that it is good because we said so. We will charge grossly exaggerated amounts of the United States dollar for a common product that you can purchase anywhere else at a normal price. Our advertising campaign will be made entirely to cater to 3rd graders who enjoy simplicity and don't have to worry about security. That being said, we plan to make a business that runs for no more than thirty five and one half days, at which point we will become bankrupt and stop selling product."

I agree, you HAVE to try and please the customer, always, and conduct yourself in a respectable, calm manner.
If someone complains to me at my movie theatre "its too warm", even though I just set the thermostat to 65, you gotta go and check, or at least lie and say youll fix it.  You have to keep your customer happy, or at least tricked well enough to be able to pull crazy shit.  Unfortunately, for OPD, we arent as stupid as people who go to watch movies like Codename: The Cleaner
