Glycerin Question...

Recommended Posts

Hey, at least he pulled up an old post instead of starting a new thread, props for using the search engine! smile.gif

I am a bit curious on the health issues associated with glycerine as well, but all shisha contains it and the FDA hasn't pulled it yet.

A common ingredient in these suppositories is sodium hydroxide, also known as lye. Lye is a very caustic, dangerous substance. My question to all of you hookahers is how safe would this be mixed in your shisha?

Well... the topic was all about him looking for a bottle of straight food grade glycerin to add to the tobacco, and he came across the suppositories. I doubt he ever used them, and considering there not made for consumption, it would not be smart to use them now would it xD

Forums are good for two things: socializing, and geek rated answers. Now that I have the latter, perhaps I'll come back for the former happy.gif. Sorry about the two year old thread, but it is what google popped out of it's hole. I think I'll find some food grade glycerin at a place with a bit more variety than risk smoking something you're suppose to put in nature's pocket.... so thanks for a bit of insight heheheh.
