booya
So i ordered a 2 hose rotator from h-s in may... i got it about 2 weeks after the order was placed and immediately went to work setting it up. after 20 minutes of screwing and unscrewing the vase in an attempt to get a good seal, i gave up and called the 1-800 number. the dude i spoke to tried to walk me thru it but in the end i still could not get a good seal on the unit. so i sent it back. it took 3 weeks to get back to austin from calgary.i spoke with the dude again at h-s and asked if he could ship some tobacco back with the hookah (an aqua blue mya vortex) so i don't get dinged on shipping. 2 weeks later i get a package. i rush home open it up, and to my horror, there is a busted mya base in the nice mya case. and it wasn't aqua blue... so now i'm pissed, my shits broken, AND its the wrong color, which can only mean a massive delay till i can enjoy the sweet flavor of the sheesh. oh and the tobacco wasn't in my package... so i call h-s and talk to the man once again about this situation and he tells me they messed up and sent me two mya's and split my orders to include tobbacco in one and the pipe in the other. two vortex's would have been cool, except the one is broken. so the next day, i get my proper mya vortex, and a bit of tobacco, but not the full freakin order! so i wait all weekend, craving the sweet taste of nakla vannilla and af cola.... finally monday, my tobacco shows up! i'm so excited, contemplating which flavors i'll make a flavorful cocktail out of and smoke this evening. i get to the post office and my excitemnet turns to disappointment and i get the freakin customs bill! 70 bucks for 1250g of tobbaco! a$$holes! so after all this, i go home set up my mya and load it full of tangeirs kashmir peach.... and it starts slowly, the thin smoke and tickle in the thrroat... 10 minutes later, i'm not thinking straight anymore... 15 minutes in, i pull my coals off and proceed to lay down to kill whatever sort of wierd buzz i had.... I don't think i'll be smoking that again.... anyways, thats my story. p.s. the mya vortex bases ARE very thin... i'll try and snap a pic of the broken one to show y'all. symptom CY
Agh, there's nothing more disappointing than a failed bowl of Tangiers. The frustration+disappointment+ridiculous buzz combo is the pits. Just know that it's not supposed to smoke that way -- really, it should smoke just as smooth as any other tobacco, though it'll feel a bit more weighty in your lungs. That's a cruddy story though. Because of Canada’s strict duties we advise that you contact your local customs office to get the most recent and up to date information regarding duties. Sonthert
Yeah, there is a distinct tendency to underpack bowls of Tangiers. Try more, it seems weird, but thin and harsh is a dead giveaway to underpacked...the only other problems that will act like that are not stirring well or throwing the juice away when you take the tobacco out of the bag. booya
NAFTA protects against duties levied against products that are deemed to be undervalued only. so say i bought a maya in the states for $50 bucks, but the canadian governtment determines that the pipe is actually worth $100, they then can levy goods and services tax (GST) on the estimated amount ($100), they cannot tack a duty on the product due it being purchased for less out side the country, but thats about it.Tobacco and alcohol on the other hand has a sin tax on it, so even if i got it for free, they will add the sin tax on and i'll have to pay it in order to get the goods. sucks, i know.so i went home right now, and packed another bowl of the tangiers, fully loaded, and it smoked great, but the flavor i find is too spicy for me, it smoked great, but it still kicked me in the chest pretty good.
