Stargate

Jeez I know what you mean. The article on there is absolutely
correct...I've seen that hookah being advertised online for 1000 bucks
and up. Kinda makes me wonder if there's just a rip-off look alike or
if this guy happened to find a billion of them laying around in a dark
room he forgot about? Kinda strange offer but really good. Maybe too
good to be true?

Well he explains on the ebay website. Guess you guys didn't read it. There were only a few of these made, and they were made with a really expensive material, and he was able to get his hands on one, sent it to China and had it replicated. The part where he tells people he is crazy for selling these at 900 dolllars is kinda stupid because he even tells why these are cheap.
I bought a black one from him. I made a thread about it about 2-3 months ago. I actually had the chance to pick it up in person to avoid shipping charges, cause he is based in Sacramento, Ca and thats where I live. He is legit. I went to one of his hookah cafes with some of my buddies and smoked with him before buying it.

This is getting very interesting =)

Thanks Yashman for explaining what was up, as I, too, completely missed
the explanation as well (aside from the whole "I must be crazy" part).
That makes completely good sense with the replicated part. So is the
hookah made mostly of copper, as Tagseem said? If so, how well does it
smoke in your opinion, and have you tried the legit one before?
So it smoked better than the silver one, eh?
Physically I dont see how it can if its an exact copy of it.  As far as
the copper Stargate being heavier than the silver one, the only way that can be
possible is if the copper one is thicker than the silver one. Silver
weighs about 1.67 more than copper.

Honestly, I couldn't tell you what its made out of. All I know is that mine is very heavy for its 25" size. And yes, when I went to go with my buddies to pick it up from Taqseem's hookah cafe, he let us try it out on his original. It worked really well, but I can't notice a big difference between mine and his.
I don't know if its advertised on his site, but when I picked up mine, he had a variety of colors to choose from, something that wasn't in his ebay auction at the time. I think there was the gold color (like advertised), black, copper, blue, silver and I think one more that I can't remember. I got the black one (its looks like a metallic black).
If anyone has any more questions about the stargate, I'll try to answer them. And if pictures of anything on the hookah are needed as well, I got a digicam so ask away.

Please Yashman,

if you can, get some pictures of the Stargate I would love to see it

Those pictures online aren't "real" enough for me to make my decision.

get a picture of it sitting on ur table, or on the floor you know. Not one thats pictured on the internet or advertised....

Yours is the replica by taqseem right?

I definately will, but not until later tonight. I gave my mom my
digicam to take with her on her trip to new york, i forgot. But she
comes home today, so I'll get on it pretty quick, and yes I got a
replicate one.

Ok, here are some pictures of my Stargate.

Here she is fully assembled:

Here is a picture of the washable hose it came with. Very nice and flexible. With his deal he hooked me up with an extra one:

Fully Disassembled:

As you can see, the rubber grommets it comes with are a lot thicker
than normal grommets, which I like. It came with 4 large white bowl
grommets, and 4 small black hose grommets. He also gave me an extra
baggy of rubber washers for all the screw on points which was nice.

Picture of the Stargate with the male adapter setup. It comes with both
ways whcih is really nice. I use the large bowl for groups, and the
small one for personal sessions:

And finally here it is setup with the female head piece:

If there are any more requests, ask away!

I was one of the first guys to buy one of these from Taqseem and I can
say that it's an excellent hookah. The construction is very solid, it's
very easy to clean, and it smokes great. I honestly don't have a single
complaint. If you're looking for a great one-person hookah, this is the
one to get.

It's good that you haven't had a problem with your stargate yet, but
then I'd like to give you some warning from my experience with my
Stargate.

The main section of hookah which screws onto the water chamber, make
sure when you are unscrewing them apart, that you fully unscrew. What I
mean is don't unscrew it partially and try to pull it off the rest I
guess. The reason for this is because the threads on my water chamber
got worn down and now when I try to screw on the hookah to the base, it
just keeps screwing on and never catches.

It still works, but now I have to get a wet paper towel, and tear off a
narrow strip and wrap it around the threads and THEN screw it on. This
makes the threads catch really well, but its just sort of a hassel. Soo
look out for that ;-)

Wow that base looks almost identical to mine...but yeah the base is
kind of starting to fall apart...like the top metal ring came unglued
or something from having moving parts I suppose. There's a small leak
in it now but it's nothing that hinders anything. Not that I have a
stargate...it just looks exactly like my base only with a longer valve
for releasing air, which is detachable....

nice pictures.
wonder how many OZ. of water it takes to use the hookah. Base seems
kinda small. I was thinking of purchasing another Mini Ebony hookah
from hooka-shisha.That one took 8oz till water was 1in above pipe. I
dont know if i want a 100 stargate though. Im not a fan of all the
unscrewing parts. But i love the EBONY hookah i had, just wish the base
had a clea window like the stargates

Seandoo - what hookah do you have which resembles the base of the pictured stargatE??

If you think about it, the only parts you really need to unscrew is the
water chamber and thats about it. Other than that its just like a
normal hookah. I think the other screw on points are kinda handy when I
want to break it down for traveling purposes. Other than that though I
never really unscrew anything else besides the base.

I'm not sure what kind of hookah I have, like who made it or
anything...I was going to post a picture last night but I couldn't find
a cable for my brother's old digital camera. I need to borrow my
girlfriend's camera for this weekend since I have to give a "how to"
speech for a public speaking class, of which I will be showing how to
set up a hookah =) haha. Anyway yeah I'll post a picture so you get a
better idea of what I'm talking about with the base and everything.
