Zemo
So, I've been smoking hookah for a few years, almost daily for most of it. I just got a new batch of shisha and toys (phunnel bowl with mod, Nammor hoses...yay!). I popped in some of the Tangier's Kashmir Peach, and got BLASTED! It wasn't burning or anything, but I was getting major headrushes after one hit...two consecutive hits and I had to get some fresh air! Now, I like to be inebriated as much as the next guy, but I can't even really smoke it...the headrushes are too intense, almost make me feel sick. I've never even had headrushes off of a hookah before, short of just plain burning shisha.I have yet to try the other Tangier's flavors...Blueberry, F-line Kashmir, Kiwi...Experiences? tips? I can't handle it if it's just going to smoke like this, as good as it tastes...
Allia22
Mix it with other, weaker shishas to get used to it.
arik
I know sometimes when you smoke in a small room with no windows open it can give you a headache.
Zemo
It was a very large room, and windows were open in the next room over....either way, I've smoked tons of hookah in a "room" 5' tall, 4' wide, and 10' long with no airflow. And with as much as I've smoked hookah, there shouldn't be any "getting used to it"....what am I needing to get used to? What am I inhaling that's screwing up my brain? Is Tangier's going to give me cancer!?
arik
What brands were you smoking before? were they all washed 0.05% nicotine?
nestormakhno
Tangiers has nicotine in it. If you don't smoke cigarettes and only smoke washed tobacco (SB, AF, etc), you're going to get a headrush until you get used to it. Smoke it in small doses, e.g. mix it in with other stuff or don't take such big hits, and you should be fine in less than a week's time to smoke it normally. Zemo
I've smoked just about any brand you can name...Al Fakher, Romman, Nakhla, Prince, Starbuzz, Layalina, etc etc etc...I've even had Tangier's before (about a year and a half ago) and never had this problem before. Zemo
About the nicotine....that may be the issue. Didn't know Tangier's had more than other brands...did they always? I do smoke cigarettes, but not often. 3-7 roll-your-own's a week. I guess it's a similar headrush, but nowhere near as intense as with this Tangier's stuff. Scoop
mixing it like someone said is the best idea. took me a week to get used to it.

You're taking in more from a hookah, because you inhale deeper (provided, of course, that you do) and there's more smoke going in. The headrush is more intense for the same reason. But don't worry, once you get used to it, you'll be fine.
Zemo
Once I get used to the massive amounts of nicotine I'll be fine...and addicted! Great! As of right now, the only thing I have to mix with is a tub of AF mint....delicious!

Great!lol, I don't think it works that way. I'm sure if you ask the non-smokers on this forum who smoke Tangiers, they'll tell you that they don't scratch their arms for nicotine when they don't get any, lol. Zemo
But nicotine is the addictive compound in cigarettes...and arguably the single most addictive compound anywhere. If I'm smoking hookah and getting tons of nicotine, how would I be avoiding the addictive property?
Scoop
no idea but i smoke tangiers and dont smoke everyday or have it as a must do after work.
nestormakhno
You're probably not going to get addicted, because the amount of nicotine in the mix is comparatively small. Plus, it's filtered out through water. Don't worry. Eric's not going to make an addict out of you. And remember: the first step is to admit that you have a problem. :-P
shisha fan
can you people describe these so called "head-rushes" because i always smoke nakhla and al wahaand i never get them. i also smoke cigarettes, cigars and other stuff, but i`ve never gotten a head-rush from nicotine. is it just like feeling a little baked or is it different? arik
you feel light headed, try inhaling exhaling really fast with out hookah, you are gonna kill some brain cells but you will get a headrush.how much % nicotine is in Tangiers? never tried it before, i only smoke nakhla. Same deal about it being filtered out through the water...I'm not so much worried about addiction, I'll probably be smoking hookah for years to come, chemical dependance or not...but smoking hookah should not make me light headed, dizzy, and give me a headache... Sonthert
Try adding more tobacco to your bowl, when you are preparing the bowl that will usually cut down on the buzz. Also, acclimate it, if the tobacco is in dry humidity shock, the buzz can kick some ass. Third thing, F-Line is a lot more potent. If you are smoking F-Line, be cautious!Yes, assume that all tobacco is going to give you cancer. I get head rushes every now and again, usually only when the weather gets more damp and cooler. When i first smoked Tangiers, I got out of my chair and laid down on the floor. Like anything, you just have to get used to it. Try mixing, or try a different flavor. I found Orange Soda or Cooling Strawberry to give a light buzz. (please note that a lite tangiers buzz still makes you lay back in your chair haha)good luck
Zemo
So, I've never heard of the acclimation bit...how long should I let it "air out", and why? What does letting the shisha dry out a bit accomplish? Seems to me all the flavor is in the juices, so you'd want to keep as much of it as possible....hehe....I just realized the bowl of Kashmir Peach I smoked last night was from the juiciest part of a freshly opened bag...probably DRIPPING with nicotine, a la turbo-headrush...nice.
