Buying A New Hookah Mya?

Recommended Posts

I'm getting my stuff ready to move back to my college apartment and wanted to bring a new Hookah along with me. I've only bought one other from Hookah Shisha.com it was an egyptain 2 hooser and I am still enjoying it. However I decided I wanted a 4 hoose for the large parties we host and something with some more style to it than the plain egyptain the auto sel option was attractive too because many of these people have never smoked Hookah and its always a pain having to yell over the music to have someone cover their hose when I want to take a hit. I'm also a little disapointed in myself as well as I've noticed the Hookah bars and my more experienced friends are able to get more flavor out of their tobacco. So really I'm revamping my entire Hookah stockpile. I just recently switched to Natural Coals and I've been smoking Romman Shisha so if any of you think theres something better out there Shisha wise let me know (that mess is expensive!).

Back to the hookah though. So I was browsing around Hookah-Shisha and had my whish list of options in my head. 4 hoose, auto seal, and modern. I fell upon the Mya section and fell pretty hard for the Mya Obelisk 4 hoose (I think some people call it the pyrmid) but I've been hearing some bad things about the glass base being too thing and with a $270 dollar price tag I want to be absolutly sure I'm getting a quality piece. So help me out fellow members yea or nay on the Obelisk, and if no perhaps throw out a few other choices that would also suit my needs.

Thanks!

The Obelisk is an awesome product; I heard it smokes really well as you'd think and it's a beauty to look at. However, I think that $270 for a Hookah is way too expensive. Also, you can't have an expensive product like that (especially the glass base) for large parties because I'm pretty sure that it'll get knocked over and it'll brake at one point or another. You should look for something cheaper and more sturdy.

As for the Shisha, Layalina & Al Fakher as well as some Naklha are better than Romman. Starbuzz and Smiley's are too expensive IMO.

Well I mean at the parties we have about 20+ people over. I'd say more than half of those would be interested in at least trying it so a single hose wouldn't work. Plus the site says you can convert it easily down to a one hose by just taking off the hose adaptors. My main concern really is the glass base as people are talking about how easy it is to break. I've heard talk that you can order replacement parts for any Mya hookah, but I haven't been able to find a site that sells the individual parts by their lonesome. Any one actually own this thing that's got an opinion on it? I searched but couldn't find a solid review.

If you're hell-bent on a Mya, you should get an acrylic. Less of a chance for the base to break.

qft.

with 20 people over, its definitely gonna fall...and break. Edited by Scoop

the pyramid wont fall over, its built pretty stable.. you would have to knock the table over before it fell. HOWEVER.. the glass sucks. Everything about that hookah was great.. until I saw the glass.. and broke two bases just by taking the stem off.. who knew suction was strong enough to make a corner pop out on a fuckin hookah? The knew mya line is ridiculous.. same quality my ass! Edited by ASUSEAN1
