Does Wrinkly Foil Hinder Performance?

Recommended Posts

Whats consensus on this then! Hookahwiki says wrinkly foil is a bad move. Sometimes the foil just gets wrinkly and just i just tend to use it. Is it really affecting performance??????!!!!???

I *HATE* it when my foil crinkles. So much so that i will bin it and start again.

I like a nice uniform stretched drum-like foil over the foil, wrinkle free.

I personally think that the wrinkles allow the foil to touch the tobacco.

Wrinkled foil will disrupt air flow and air dynamics wink.gif

Pulled that one out of my @$$ (butt-dyno) but makes sense to me.

Unwrinkled Foil: providing better aerodynamics than wrinkled foil since whenever. (campaign commercial voice)

I disagree. It's not as if the shisha is going to jump up and fill the wrinkles. Instead you'll have small pockets of air that cause your shisha to smoke unevenly.

i would have disagree with you..
even when you pack your bowl, the shisha isnt totally flat. some parts are higher than others which would cause this "uneven smoke" as well.

Coincidentally, all three of those girls are cousins and sisters to each other.

I think the heat will stabilize across the bowl, the same way a pan of water will still boil if its not on the burner evenly...part of it will hang off. It will take the same amount of heat longer to an amount of work or more heat to do the same amount of work. Wrinkly foil will act more like a heat sync, increasing the surface area to volume ratio. So you're both right.

I think. Unless I'm wrong. So, if I'm wrong, then one of you also has to be wrong, so either all three of us are wrong, two of us are wrong or we're all right. It couldn't be that only one of us is wrong...unless it were me that were wrong, but that would mean both of you weren't right...Oh no, I've done the head spinning around on my neck thing.
