MatthewLee Posted July 28, 2007 Share Posted July 28, 2007 I noticed that the 50g boxes say washed but the 250g ones I have don't.Which is true?I just got done with a session of Pistachio (big box) and I felt ill pretty much right away...15 minutes latter I yakked. :~(I've smoked Cappaccino (big box) and never had this problem.Any hints? MechAnt Posted July 30, 2007 Share Posted July 30, 2007 Tobacco processors have a choice when preparing their tobacco. Either to wash their 'baccy or not. Washing it helps to remove a lot of the raw nicotine in the tobacco therefore, unwashed tobacco has a much stronger nicotine buzz than washed brands do. That is the most noticeable difference. To me, I can taste the tobacco a little more in the unwashed versus the washed. I suppose that's why I like washed a little more, because of the stronger taste, but sometimes I do smoke for a buzz and cant keep away from my unwashed! Usually washed tobacco contains ~0.05% nicotine, while un-washed ones usually contain 0.5%, with the exception of Tangiers (0.3%).
