Diffusers

as far as the claim that it super-filters your hookah smoke, in theory it works but has not actually been scientifically tested (to my knowledge)...

as far as making it quiet, it works, but what kind of sadistic freak wants to get rido f the lovely noise??

Probly a sadistic freak that is going deaf and can hardly hear anything over that lovely noise.

True that it supposedly filters the smoke more but from my experience, it makes the smoke a little less susceptible to getting harsh and makes the smoke a little smoother. Also, the diffuser does make the hookah quieter but it has a special sound to it! I cant really describe it. However, it does get rid of vibrations in the hookah cause sometimes, when it gurgles so hard that the coals get shifted especially if your hookah tilts a little. The diffuser helps to get rid of that.

try making one yourself, look in the how to section. There are few good homemade ones. I made one and, Hell yea they reduce the noise, and the holes in mine were pretty big 1/8 inch. So a defuse with super fine holes would be even more quite.

I feel really weird when the hookah doesn't gurgle. The only time when I would want to use one is when watching a movie and smoking at the same time. The gurgle does get a bit annoying when you can't hear what you are watching over it.
