Recommended Posts

does anyone here put a layer of foil on the bottom of the bowl, i have found that it is alot easier to clean and if you get it right you can pull the shisha out in a foil container of sorts, i was just wandering if anyone else does this

NO ONE.

It's completely unnecessary. Most bowls are glazed anyway and are easy to clean.

Foil top & bottom will just create more difficulties in smoking and getting your heat management right.

We had a member smoking Al Waha for ages and just could not get it right. He used foil in the bottom.

Guess what happened when he stopped?

So don't do it. It offers next to no advantages[1].

[1] - It is rumoured that HH (Hookah Hookah) Tobacco prefers this method of bowl arrangement. I cannot comment as never smoked it and still would not use foil in my bowl!

why is this foil on the bottom idea, suddenly coming about??

I am led to believe that on HookahHookah website (or some ruddy website) they show
someone packing a bowl with foil on the bottom...

It's how our friend got the idea. And of course it destroys the tobacco super-fast.

I think that's how the idea is gain popularity.

When I bought my first hookah, the lady at the shop told me to rock the inner lining. I've been doing it that way for the past 2 years, but after some experimentation, realized that foil totally messes up your heat management. Just wash with hot water after you're done smoking.

before i had a phunnel bowl, i used the 'fake' phunnel (from the how-to a while back), and i have to say it worked great.

to clarify, the fake phunnel is making a phunnel out of foil and sticking it inside your regular bowl. i put the shiny side up, and it worked well. i'd do it again if i didnt have a real one now.
