smokeup
So I wanted to use my second hose with my new Mya Vortex last night. Here's a link to what it looks like: http://www.myasaray.com/store/item.asp?ITE...EPARTMENT_ID=49I screwed in the second mya valve which is an "auto-seal" valve that I got seperately from HS. The second hose, however, would not pull for crap and I then realized that the first hose valve -- the one provided by Mya with the Hookah -- was not an auto seal. So you had to plug the first hose to take a rip off the second hose. Even then, it seemed to pull very weak off the second hose (and the first hose too kinda). Ended up just converting it back to one hose. Any thoughts or suggestions? Do I just need to buy another auto-seal valve from HS and dump the one Mya gave me directly (which is lame in my opinion). Also, is the one-way valve (with ball bearing) supposed to somehow help with multi-hose use/sealing? Didn't seam to do anything. It didn't even work to clear the chamber when I blew into the hose. I ended up having to unscrew the small cap where a second hose valve can be inserted and blow the smoke out of that hole. What's the deal with the one-way valve with ball bearing? Why did it not work to clear the chamber when I blew into the hose? This hookah is brand new so the ball bearing is not rusted or anything.Thanks. Zuter
I know you paid for the extra valve and all, but you are seriously better off. I had a 3 hose auto-seal system and eventually the ball bearing system either inhibits a decent smoke flow or just blocks the flow all together unless you clean it every time. I gave up and took the bearings out and just made corks for each valve, everyone I know enjoys it much more now. And if you're with someone who can't cover a hose then I got nothin'. Edit: To answer some questions; The one way valve will only open when pulled on, so blowing into the open hose will not lift the bearing as it is not the easiest way out unfortunately. I believe the system is designed for cases when you have absent minded people smoking who can't be bothered to cover their hose. Most common situation here is a party with a bunch of daffy minded women, cause that's the only time I have problems .I'm not familiar with the Mya autoseal addition but if you do not have access to the ball bearing you probably just need to buy a non-autoseal valve so you can still have a two hose hookah if you want. Also if you don't have access to that bearing I'd imagine it's going to get jammed up eventually too so that sounds pretty weird. ghostofdavid
If you purchased your Mya as a single house system, it would be pointless for them to give you an auto seal valve. You could always go the old school "one thumb over the hose" route when you are two hosing it.
