Rusty Hose

Recommended Posts

Ive used these hoses maybe twice on one, and twice/three times on the others and already they have started to spit out rust flakes when I go to clear them out buy blowing through them, is this normal? Im guessing not but I could be wrong?

How old is it? Do you leave it connected to your stem when you finish smoking? Has water ever bubbled up into the hose? And lastly, have you ever cleaned it by blowing through it?

No water does bubble up into hose, no I disconnect it after every smoke, and I clean them by blowing through them each time, lately I just noticed rust flakes coming out, I know it is rust because some of it is shiny and it is attracted to a magnet, and its a reddish brown color, so yeah

Eh, I ditched my cobra hoses long ago, they're junk. If I had to speculate, I'd say its from all the smoke/moisture.

you do realize that metals will rust even if they do not come in contact with water right? there is enough moisture in the air to cause metals to oxidize.
also, when you smoke with the hose, there is enough moisture coming through the hose from the bubbling in the base to cause rust.

so I should expect my $17 hose to rust and become useless after 4ish uses?

you can expect anything to rust no matter how many uses.
thats why there are washable hoses available that dont contain any type of metal in the hose.

edit: basically what im saying is you cannot predict when any metal will oxidize. it just happens. Edited by chinamon

No you should not. But I would not expect a refund either.

These hoses are crud and will rust. This one seems to have rusted a bit quicker than norm... but it will still rust sad.gif

Odd as it sounds - I used to use a hairdryer to blow my hose out (combination of low heat & high blow)

Thread jack averted. This thread is about rusting hoses, not Nammors. saying that Nammors don't rust is a fine solution, but then talking about Nammors, is something else.

I've noticed that there are whole shipments of hoses that are prerusted. Several possibilities come to mind, but what seems most likely to me is that stuff was shipped over here surface shipment during a summer and the heat and moisture from the ocean rusted the inner coils. Alternatively, how long things are waiting in customs, stuck next to the ocean might be affecting things, too.

If they can't refund any money, how could they offer a 50% refund?

Oh, I get it...his wording was confusing.

Why can't you, Maher, give him a complete refund? If the merchandise is defective, its defective.

Over 30 days old....anything can happen to a hose....

A hose can rust from its environment.....water vapor while smoking....etc

More than willing to offer full refund if it was within the parameters.....

-Mahir

Edited to add : Also...the hoses were used..... Edited by NazarHookah
