My Shisha Bar

Recommended Posts

So my friend jeff is opening a pita joint and i am thinking with $10,000 i could add some hookahs and flavours, and make more money then his business each year! we'd locate in london ontario.

But this pesky problem that has been a thorn in my side, is that tobacco is banned in all establishments in this god forsaken country of shisha haters and tax collecting war mongers (war on shisha).

So if i were to buy a bunch of soex like 20 boxes, and maybe 100 boxes of other shisha pack them into jam jars, whats the likelihood i'd get caught?

For i'd claim to move the soex to the jars and it makes for more efficient service. while in reality i'd stash away the evidence in a mcdonalds dumpster never to be seen again..

Then i'd charge aabout $10 a hookah with tax for a 2 hoser per session?

Seem profitable?

i cant figure how' i'd get caught, as i doubt a cop would even come in in the first place. and i have both herbal at home (1 box ig ot with my hookah) and my beloved shisha and i cant tell them apart smell nor look wise.

its not the fact that people will complain about the smoke entirely which will lead to an investigation of your place. what if an undercover person comes into your place and asks to smoke and you offer a tobacco or soex option. that will lead to a huge problem which could go to the legal side because you are not only offering a service which is banned but you lied and hid the "proof" from the public. honestly i say dont do it just for the legal risks if you where to get caught. i dont know the legal system entirely but trying to hide it could possibly lead to a little jail time.

hmm i was planning on just claiming it was all SOEX lol..

if i did a rooftop bar would the tobacco hookah still be banned by that pesky smoking ban killin our U.K and Canadian shisha lovers. Edited by Brownman18

selling tobacco as soex would be highly illegal. you can not sell a product any lie about what is in it anywhere. what if someone has a reaction to the tobacco and goes to the hospital? your really going to have to cover your ass with insurance and none will cover a lawsuit if you lied about it so any lawsuit that happens from that will go directly on your head.

From what I hear, there is a smoking ban on ENCLOSED PUBLIC AREAS. It only stipulates that and there is no specific ban on outdoor public areas except for a few cities around the US such as Calabasas, CA or Santa Monica that is trying to ban public smoking as well. So if you have your shisha stuff outside, I don't think it'll be a problem. Check your local city and county laws.

EDIT: Forgive me, this info pertains to the US sad.gif Edited by MechAnt

yeah i believe this is how it is in UK also, correct me if i'm wrong tho. So, you could still operate a hookah bar out of your friends place if he has a patio or such.

I'm picturing a tiki bar with a sign saying Hookah. And then people go up and you have all the flavors in tubs and they pic what they want/mix etc. Haha, okay I'm a loser just ignore that.

Its *not* a good idea to lie. It'll just end up biting you in the ass sometime in the future.

Yeah I would try turning it into a private establishment although I seem to remember suggesting that to someone else and they shot it down because ALL enclosed places that do any sort of business are not allowed to sell tobacco or smoke inside of them or something I dunno ask Johnny

I looked this up the other day actually, and in the US it is legal to own a hookah bar simply because that is its main source of revenue (much like a cigar bar). The idea I guess is that people automatically know they are walking into a smokey environment.

The only stipulation is that you cannot offer it to people under the age of 18. But that could be different now since NJ laws have changed to 19. I'm sure the laws in Ontario aren't far from that. So you could just sell regular tobacco without having to cheat the system.

Canadian laws are retarded, in the sense that even if you call it "Come Smoke Hookah" they wont allow it because its smoke.. even though everyone that goes in/wants to go in is aware its a hookah bar, and smokin will be done there.

damn americans failure to annex us long ago has left me hookah bar less!
