Shouldn't this be moved to a hookahhub review section??

I don't think so. The OP obviously wants to discuss it.

However to the OP - Please post a single review of your experiences in the vendor review area under hookahhubs vendor thread.

$75 to ship it back? Where were you shipping from and where were you shipping to?

From Seattle, WA to Statesboro, GA. I had to pay to ship it as well as packaging.

I'm sorry but did you had it sent in a private Jet or something? From my buying/selling experience on ebay, there is absolutely no way that a Hookah can cost $75 to ship from WA to GA.

I'm sorry, and I feel your pain for getting lame service, but your review sounds a bit extreme to me. You say you collect hookahs. What other hookahs do you own? Like, specifically? Most Egyptians I have owned, even the nice ones, very rarely have perfect welding. Even the KM I bought awhile ago was not pristine. It is the nature of the beast when you buy something that is made by hand... As far as the hot glue, I dunno.

You also say that you were accused of smoking out of the hookah. Why would they do that, just out of the blue? You also say you have many other higher quality hookahs that you could smoke out of. If that is the case, why even buy this one? So you could smoke it, that's why. No matter how many hookahs I had in my collection, every single time I bought a new one, it would get smoked.

Then there is the statement that you were never refunded your $150, and that you paid SEVENTY-FIVE DOLLARS to ship it back. This is the biggest flaw with your review, as this is obviously a complete exaggeration. Unless you packed your hookah in a box with some gold bars, there is NO REASON it should have cost you that much. Making a statement such as that makes a reader like me very suspicious, and takes credence away from your other statements.

What this sounds like to me is that you got a shoddy product, or perhaps what you believed to be a shoddy product, and did not have a valid reason (at least according to hookahub's policies) to return the machine. Did you actually call them and speak to someone on the phone? This often helps a lot. As you say you got completely ripped off, left with no product and no money, did you contact your credit card company to get your money back? There are usually quite a few avenues you can take to make yourself whole in a situation like this, and I'm not sure you have taken all of them. I don't work for hookahub or anything, and in fact I have never ordered a thing from them. But when I read a review like this, that is so scathing (and that does not involve Genuine Hookahs), I always wonder where the facts of the situation give way to raw emotion.

And yeah, this belongs in the review section. biggrin.gif

I believe he has also posted in the review section..so this is just a discussion. Which is exactly the way it's supposed to be done. Reviews in the Review section, further discussion on the general discussion area. Someone take notes!

Oh, and also- as soon as I get the hookah back, I am more than happy to take pictures of all it's disgusting glory to prove that I'm really not exaggerating. By the way... I'm a she... not a he. tongue.gif

That would be awesome. Maybe some people here can even help with cleaning up the welds and such a little, so as to make it more serviceable. If you went to all that trouble as you say (calling Hookah Hub, and so on), then your situation really sucks, and they should be ashamed of their service. Have you called your credit card company? Almost all of them offer some kind of buyer protection, so that if you get screwed like you did, they will arbitrate for you and possibly refund your money on the charge. I would definitely try that next. If I came off like a dick in my post, I apologize. I just know how easy it is to get really frustrated when something crappy happens with a purchase, and sometimes people blow things way out of proportion (I have done it a few times, I am sure). Good luck with your hookah.

big company? lol...i would just threaten them that youll go to the BBB and call your credit card company and tell them they voided their agreement as well

part of their agreement was that theyll reimburse you...complain, dont just take it.

I have a few giggles here. Jason is a one-guy company. He is customer service and the manager and the owner. He is not a big company. Part of the issue here is that he is out of Canada and he drop ships out of Georgia. He probably never saw that hookah, he's relying on their decision that it was smoked out of. Jason never actually handles a hookah, if I understand their drop-shipping system. He is relying on what he's being told. He, unfortunately, has no choice. He has to take the shipping manager at their word.

The BBB is worthless, they have no legal authority to do anything, they're like the AAA, their a private company that endorses companies for a price.

You paid with a credit card, call your credit card company and tell them you returned an item within the terms of the company, you paid for the shipping back and they are trying to stiff you. The credit card company will probably credit you the amount of the hookah plus the amount for the shipping. Edited by Sonthert

Correction - I paid with my debit card... my military bank account debit card.

Does it have a Visa/Mastercard logo on it? Because if it does, you should be good. If it doesn't, I'm not sure I understand how you paid.

I'm on the phone with Jason Spratt, here's his side:

1. You ordered the hookah 20-May, 2007.
2. Received it 30-May 2007.
3. You complained about the hookah 11-June 2007.
4. They replied the same day with the procedures for returns. This included getting a return authorization.
5. He claims you didn't reply, and he didn't hear from you until 24-July 2007 when:
6. The shipping point says they received the hookah sometime around then, Jason was out of town and couldn't reply and you sent it back without a return authorization as described on the support ticket.
7. The shipping manager in Georgia claims that it was used, violating the return policy...nobody takes back used stuff.
8. They offered to return it back to you, free of charge and you accepted that.

Thats Jason's side of the story.
I'm offering no opinion here, just mediating a little.
He's willing to negotiate up to and including giving you your money back, call him.

Wow this seems to have gotten way out of hand. We have a pretty solid reputation for quality service and products. This is one of those situations when the customer is actually in the wrong; which we have documentation to prove, yet yet we come out looking bad. Either way we've refunded her money in full to ensure we maintain our good service reputation. I hope this to everyone's satisfaction. Edited by HookahHub.com
