Ocrap
I just got the Nammor Hose in the mail the other day. It smelled kind of funny (strong plastic). Well, I decided to wash the hose (since it is a washable hose ) with warm water. I rinsed it with high pressure for a good 7 minutes. I blew dryed the fuzzy material and the inside of the hose, then let it hang dry. Hours later, I decided to have a bowl of hookah. I couldn't really taste the flavor using the Nammor Hose, because i could still taste the plastic. I had a second bowl today with it, and it was a little better, but there was still some plastic to it. Will the plastic taste go away? What can I do to improve the performance of this hose? There must be some special way to clean it. Edited August 5, 2007 by Ocrap
Shifty
From what I read about this hose, you just need to fight through the taste for a few times, after that it goes away. Pull Away!
lilbrownindian
well i had the same problem as you, i just used it for 5 bowls and now its fine
Ocrap
I figured it would go away after a while. Got any tips for cleaning this hose?
KillZedKill
The taste goes away definately! for cleaning it, try using a small funnel of some kind to keep the sweat band things from getting wet! =] Just run water through it and blow it out, it gets it pretty clean. I've only had to wash mine 3 times, and I've had it for a few months now.
mrmonk7663
Ive smoked 15-20 bowls through my nammor, cleaned it with water, hot and cold, cleaned it with baking soda.....Mine still tastes like plastic. You aren't alone man.Michael
jaker29902
yeah baking soda wouldnt help the plastic taste very much, if anything it would make it more pronouced, I would try something more acidic like lemon juice or any citrius juice. Also you could try some white vinegar or something similair (yes I know vinegar is a base not an acid)
KillZedKill
X.x I really dont understand why some people are so intent on having their hoses SO clean. Simply rinsed is usually best. I think that if you use all of these different things to clean them out more then a simple rinse would do, you would definately bring back that plastic taste. Just smoke your favorite shisha for a while, something you wouldnt mind having as a slight background flavor while smoking other shishas. Natural cleaners like lemon juice would also probably work a little better as opposed to baking soda and etc.
Ocrap
Yeah, baking soda sounds a little odd to me. I'm just gonna go with smoking my favorite flavor for now (AF Apricot) and rinsing it out with warm water every so often. If that doesn't work, then I may add a little lemon juice. How does that sound?

Sonthert
Most plastic flavors go away. The edition of Khalil Maamon hoses, the all-cloth-wrapped ones, also had a flavor that would neither fade nor go away. So, I guess its on a model-by-model basis. Is that the one you are talking about? I was hoping that it would be a good hose.
spoolinspoon
I ran lemon juice and hot water thru mine a couple times and then just plain water. Hang it for a day and your set!-Eddie

The stem pieces are plastic and fixed and too large to fit in Syrian hookahs. The flavor as a slightly off flavor about it, I thought it was the second worst Khalil Maamon hose I'd ever smoked out of. Its still better than 80% of the hoses on the market, on the other hand. Xyclone
I just got my giant order in, including my black Nammor hose. I put some Afzal mint (trying to get rid of it now that my AF mint is here), and by the end of the bowl, I could barely taste the plastic. It will quickly fade away, don't worry. stryet
I just got my Nammor today, loaded up a bowl with AF orange on my Junior, and after the second pull, I had absolutely no taste. My Mya hose still has the new hose taste on it, after about 10 bowls. Give it time, it's totally worth it. Anyone think setup and relative humididy might play a factor? Hearsay
Baking soda worked for me. I've noticed that different people are getting different results from the hose. Some, myself included, have found that the taste goes away almost immediately, whereas others find the taste lingers.
Scoop
i ended up getting them even though i was bashing the price earlier. taste went away from 5mins in a hot bath.only reason i got the hose is so because my tubing kept falling out. its nice though, i cant lie. Xyclone
Update: My hose still tasted like plastic while I smoked some Al Amir Blackberry. I guess it was because AA's flavor is so light, and mint is very overpowering. Ugh. I couldn't smoke with it anymore, and used my $8 black washable hose from H-S. I'm going to try the baking soda thing tonight and let it dry overnight. I'll update tomorrow.
FelixLegion
QuiltedMaple and I broke in my new Nammor last weekend with a Mint/Chocolate Fumari mix.. tasted great the whole way through. I had washed it with baking soda x2 earlier that afternoon and ran water through it a few times as well then let it dry outside for a few hours while i went to class... like hearsay said different results for different people
