joemartin
Should I use Foil or order a Screen? I heard that Aluminum in the body gives u Altzheimers.
cypress
Do a search on Aluminum on this forum. We have had several conversations on this before. You might can find your answers there.
mushrat
Also search "screen". And welcome to the forum. If you still have questions after reading some of the earlier stuff, feel free to ask.
joeyhookah
I seem to still get good smokes with the foil. I have a screen and first time I tried it the smoke was not as thick. It seems that when I use the screen I pull more air than smoke. I tried to use more heat and it burned the tobacco, so I am actually back to foil. yashman19
Actually, I've been a foil user all my life, until my friend 2 weeks ago gave me his metal screen to have because his bowl chipped, so he had no more use for a screen. I tried it out just to give it a shot, thinking that I wouldn't like it and my tobacco would burn, but to my amazement, it worked GREAT! The only thing that I did different when packing my bowl was instead of packing it almost lvl with the top of the bowl like I normally do with foil, I packed it still loosely, but left a small maybe 3-5mm gap between tobacco and screen. And let me tell you, I was still getting great plumes of smoke, and the only difference was that I was able to get away with useing lots of coals. It never seemed to burn my tobacco. If I ever used too much heat with foil, it would get harsh to all hell, but for some odd reason with the screen, it worked amazingly. So I know everyone says that screens tend to absorb a lot of heat and burn the sh*t outta the tobacco, but I think that if you pack your bowl right, screens work great, and then you don't have to worry about aluminum in your system. wyteboy
I totally agree Yashman. With the screen, I have to use a lot more coal to get the thick smoke that I want, BUT I have yet to burn or get harshness at all. I haven't smoked in like 2 weeks and will probably only do so like 2-3 times over the next 6 weeks, scary!!
John Deere
At first when I got my screen, I loved it, but sometimes I still use the foil. Usually when I use a quicklight, I use a foil, but when I'm using natural coals, I like to use the screen. Maybe I still need to get the hang of the screen.....je ne sais pas.
