Top bowl is a Tangiers Phunnel bowl made to specifically be smoked with while using Tangiers tobacco, however there are now Glass Mod's made by Smiley that fit into those bowls to allow the use of other brands of tobacco. The basic jist of the phunnel bowl is to allow you to keep all of the tobacco juices in the bowls so as to not have it dry out as quick from the heat. The phunnel bowl is all I smoke out of these days, they keep the flavor longer becasue no juice is lost, the smoke is denser becasue of that same fact, and it sure helps save money with getting a longer session out of a bowl.

Bottom bowl is a Smiley's Glass Bowl which are made of pyrex. Being that these are made of pyrex they tend to cook the tobacco a bit more even but not anything significant I've noticed. The only real interesting feature about them is that they use a glass screen instead of foil. Oh and they come in pretty colors.....

Thanks for you quick response. I think i will give both of these kinds of bowls a try. What size Phunnel bowl should i purchase?(i'm thinking of getting the Chiller hookah on Hookah-shisha.com)

Oh and lastly, is it worthwhile to get the glass mod for the phunnel bowls too?

You won't need the mod if you fill the phunnel to the top. Especially if you are using Tangiers Tobacco. And a Small or medium sized phunnel is good for a LOOOONG smoke.

Do phunnel bowls come in different sizes?

I guess mine would be a large then, because its pretty well sized. I love it.

you should see the colors he has at the shop...its glorious. i got a bowl for myself and my girl got the same color pattern but inverse. the small bowl lasted 4 hours yesterday...and the flavor was still there

Well, I sadly dont have the luxury of going to the shop and seeing them in person.

You can special order them! I have matte colors, glossy colors, every color of the rainbow! You could talk your on-line retailer into getting a specific color scheme...
