dank7oo
So while I was at the dollar store today I found those latch type mason jars (2/dollar) - they are glass and the perfect size to fit 50g shisha inside. The openings are a little small to fit fingers in, but you can easily scoop it out with a small spoon ... I think I am going to use a small tea sppon or soething of the like. Thought I would just let you all know ...

dank7oo
Well I though that the plastic can wreck the taste a bit ... I have plastic ziploc containers also but because all of my shisha in 50g ... they are much too big in my opinion to be able to store it and hold onto the juces ... has anybody used mason jars?? What do you think?? And do you think using a spoon will make things overly messy/hard?? Edited August 5, 2007 by dank7oo
pboyle
Those would be awesome to use. Do you think it'd be worth it to label them and only use them for a certain tobacco, or would it not make a difference if you washed them? I feel like sometimes sticky substances can leave residue regardless how much you wash.
dank7oo
Right now my plan is to wash and reuse .. but I dont know how practical they will be because they are a little small and like I said I will need to use a spoon or something to get anything out ... but as for freshness they should be good ... Dunkel!
I have considered using half pint wide mouth mason jars to store my shisha. You can get a case of 12 just about anywhere for $6-9. They are fairly shallow and the wide mouth would make it easy to take out pinches of shisha. They of course are glass and made to take heat, so if you wanted to wash them out and reuse for a different flavor you could. If washing doesn't get rid of residue or smell from glass or lids you can sterilize them in boiling water for a few minutes. Now if only my shisha collection was big enough to need extra storage containers! LOL
symptom CY
I saw some of those at Redners the other day and thought about getting them, but I much prefer having wider, shallower containers -- especially for Tangiers. Easier to stir, easier to stack, and easier to acclimate.
nicayotte
I buy rubbermade plastic containers, they work great and alow me to stack and store real easy plus i can see through them and aso write the date and flavor on top! You can get 6 for like $3 at walmart
dank7oo
For 50g of shisha ... do you not find those containers to be too large?? (the conatiners that are plastic that I have would be able to hold about 125g of shisha ... so would smaller amounts spread out more and lose flavor??) spoolinspoon
I use mason jars on all my tobacco. they seal really well and you can put a label on it.They sell them at Target for about $4 for 6.The ones I got are about 3-4" and hold 250g perfectly!-Eddie
Allia22
There were some glass jars somebody was really excited about finding on here a few months ago... They were more wide than tall allowing you to be able to use your fingers to retrieve it. I think they were made by Ball..? Not sure, but if I found them in a store somewhere they'd get snatched up in a second.
