While I agree that the avatars were annoying, lets remember that they weren't the reason for his leaving. For a bit now, a majority of his low content posts were nothing positive. Not to say that thats necessarily a bad thing, but tone makes a bit difference when you're reading words over the intarweb...

He also tends to go off topic when being negative, which is a no-no. All in all, not seeing his posts will not hurt our forum, only better it in the eyes of the mods.

And to go sort of off topic here, the forum has been helping the mods so much by reporting problem posts. You all know that not all of us can be patrolling the entire board every second of every day, so reporting the problems makes life much easier. Even moreso there being posters from all over the world, who will be logged on while some of us are still sleeping smile.gif

Aside from the typical wrong post in the review section, and a few bad apples, this board is only getting better.

I like to think of the Forum as an unusual forum in a number of ways. I'm sure JonDubya has friends in lots of places and Forums, we just don't have tolerance for the sorts of posts that he liked to post, although they were normal enough stuff for most Forums.

It wasn't that long ago that everybody knew when some guy was posting inappropriate stuff. It was there for everybody to see, now for better or worse, the moderators hide this stuff. When we have to ferret out obnoxious stuff, it annoys us. Lots of you guys don't see the stuff, but its there, hidden. I think of myself as a rather calm, moderate individual and I can honestly say I have never seen something hidden here, by a moderator, that didn't deserve to be hidden. I think that Jon's stuff, overall, wasn't that bad, but a lot of his posts tended to instigate other people. I believe that the moderators feel that you all should be able to come to this Forum without having somebody being aggressive, insulting you or baiting you into a confrontation.

I have a rather short fuse sometimes and tend to be sparatic on certain topics. There is one person on here that irritates the hell out of me, i always think he's trying to start stuff. not with me, but just in general, other people might not think so though. i keep quiet though. but man i hope i never meet him.

Haha. I got a kick out of this thread. I agree the forum is getting better. I haven't been around much. My goal for skin cancer while fishing is only getting closer sad.gif. I need to start wearing sunscreen!

I honestly wondered if it was me. I admit that sometimes I can get a wee bit carried away with some things. Sorry bout that. But, life is happy right now, no need for anger and hostility, right?

i was wondering when the mods would get around to jon. it always seemed as his posts were attacking people, and the "tone" which he used while typing just made me feel like he was saying "i'm am the be all and end all... the alpha and the omega". not to kinda quote the bible but i mean, really.

good to see the mods doing their jobs, i wonder how many more days i got in me...

yeah, its been done a few times, but generally we'll be able to spot the person again and report it to the mods, or the mods will see the same IP adress.

there was a vendor awhile back who got banned for plugging his goods in question threads, he made something like 6 different handles.

you can tell if there is more than one person on an ip by how they talk on each sn so it would be rather easy to know if a computer is being shared. as for tracking by ip its mostly useless as it can be changed rather easily, i just never bother to change it.
