Urge
Greetings everyone. Old timer to Hookah'ing, new to the forum.I stumbled across these the other day, never heard of them before. The site claims them to be pretty much the revolution of hookah coal. Has anyone had experience with them? Or even seen what they look like?! Xeft
Wow, that seems either reall fake OR just extremely new. Either way they make it sound so perfect for coals ;D

Sonthert
There was a brand out, about four years ago, called Lord's. They were a triangular extruded coal. The way I think they make these coals is using like a cake decorator. Most of the time, they use an 'o' shape. They could use a triangular, or square or even hexagonal tip, small, large sizes, even make a lighting groove. They can do anything they want to, really. I assume the coals are extruded...they have that quality about them. The same way Alpha-Bits, Spaghetti-Os or Lucky Charms are made. If you look at those tubes of biscuit or cookie dough, thats the general idea. If the tube were square, the cookies would be square.Being square is hardly a revolution, since Japanese coals are square, but its a good idea. mushrat
Funny you mention square "finger" coals. AFOnline is sending me a bag/box of them with my new shipment. I didn't ask the brand but when they arrive I'll let you know what I think.

Sonthert
It could be the worst quality charcoal ever! Wait for a few reviews. The squareness of it has no bearing on it. There are probably several square brands out there.
tallerthanu2399
that would be cool if they made like a coal ring so the outside of your bowl is comepletely covered in coal and the center has no coal...

Sonthert
Besides they would have a tendency to break, especially if they were getting smaller, but it wouldn't be too difficult...as long as you didn't mind a small gap...the extruder tip would look like a "Q". mushrat
Apparently that IS the brand I'm being sent. SoI'll give you all a complete review early next week.
hookahlicious
I ordered it from hookahhost.com . I think it is the same site as you posted above. Picture is now posted.I tried it and loved it. I though it was what ever but when I received it and tried it, it is everything it claims but more. I liked the fact that the ashes were not getting in the hookah as it didnt really ash... addler
When I ordered my AF Hookah I was told they were getting some really good new charcoal in. I ordered a box of em. When they shipped me my package and sent the tracking number i emailed back to ask what kind they are and they are exotica. My shipment just cleared customs on the 10th so I should have them any day! I'll write up a review of em as well...They are definatly cheaper to purchase from AFonline though

Not sure if it was a promo price becuase its new charcoal or what but I only paid $3.50 for them....
mushrat
Just got my exotica square coals today, fired them up on the stive, no chemical smell, once they were going and I broke on ein half, still no ordor. I'll be butting to getehr a bowl of Tangers in a few to try them for taste and duration. Will post an official review later. They were easy to break but they still left the usual black coal on your hands.
