stryet
So my I had some people over last night, straight chillin, and one of my friends asks for a cardboard tube to blow smoke rings. Remembering some of y'all's cool pictures, I had a brainstorm and unrolled a half-roll of TP, and mixed a bunch of Dawn dish soap with a little water, and started blowing regular bubbles. My friends were speechless. Now, while we could fill giant bubbles of smoke, it was really difficult to get the bubble off the tube. After a bunch of tries, we found a gentle jiggling motion worked, but it was hard to duplicate. I tried blowing bubbles with my hose's acrylic mouthpiece to some success--a bunch of small ones, but there has got to be an easier way. Hookah is about relaxation, not stressing over making a bubble. Anyone care to share? I would really appreciate it.

thirdking
I did some smoke bubbles the other day after seeing them on the internet. I found that a cardboard tube from a roll of paper towels tended to work better. With the longer tube it was easier to "shake off" the bubble. Those smoke bubbles are pretty cool though. ioannisds
I've heard a plastic straw is supposed to work pretty well too.

I'll definitely save it once I'm done with the roll.QUOTE (ioannisds @ Aug 6 2007, 04:08 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I've heard a plastic straw is supposed to work pretty well too.Yeah, I think length relative to diameter is an important factor. Thanks for all the help, y'all. I'll probably pick up a giant jug of bubbles and some wands next time I'm at the evil Wal*Mart (I just can't resist those low prices).
SafeSearchOff
when i make smoke bubbles, i cut off about half a poland spring bottle and blow through the mouthpiece (that you normally drink through). to geti t to detatch itsel, blow a little harder and pull the bottle away. doesnt work 100% of the time, but its pretty successful, and makes HUGE bubbles. [Elmo]
First time we tried to make Hookah bubbles we just used regular kids bubbles with the palstic wand thing, and that worked pretty well.I remember one time we made a mix of dish-detergent and water and we dipped my friend's small clay bowl in it and blew out from the bottom lol. There was bubbles coming out of all the little holes... it was awesome
Calcartman
Cardboard tubes work well, but you need a few things:the soap/water solution needs to be the right strength. Too much water and bubbles pop before blowing up big enough, not enough water and the soap is too heavy and the bubbles droop/pop.Getting the bubble off the tube is a quick pull in the opposite direction of the bubble. You wanna pull it straight off.The easiest way to visualize it is this:Tube and bubble:=====Othen you want to push it forward:.......======Othen pull the tube back, quickly, but not too quickly. Its practice.===== O
