Congrats on the baby!!!
Make sure you look up the name to make sure it doesnt mean anything bad in a different language. There are so many immigrants everywhere (me included), you dont want to be insulting or have kids make fun of him...

Anyways...I like Niko, thats really cute!

Hunter, Peyton, Jayden and Gavin are popular on your other forum because they are SUPER trendy names right now. When I was naming my first child, I really loved Peyton, then I realized that he would always be one of, like, 3475037626797 Peytons in his class wink.gif lol

I ama HUGE nameophile, lol...I have lists of names all over my house, just because I am constantly thinking about names. When it comes to naming my own children, tho, I tend to be somewhat traditional, in that I want my kids to have names that aren't trendy, but that aren't weird, either.

That's why I voted for Patrick, and Gabe, and Sean...tho, I agree, Niko is a really cool name =] I don't worry too much about names being a target for teasing; kids will always find SOMETHING to tease other kids about (like, I was teased for being too tall and thin...wtf, right? lol).

However, My husband wants to name our son Dragon. WTF? LOL I think even *I* would have problems not making fun of a kid named Dragon X]

Yea.. hrm... honestly I don't know anyone names peyton, gavin or jayden! But... that's just me I guess... I know a TON of Matts, Mikes, Johns, and brians though... haha

When I think of Jayden, I think Britney Spears. tongue.gif But that's just because I like her. And Peyton is cute, I know a few girls named Peyton too, it's different.. I like it. I usually think Peyton Manning of the Colts.

As for Dragon.. I love it! smile.gif It's.. different. tongue.gif You can call him Drag for short!

Haha, glad YOU guys like Dragon =P We've agreed that if the baby is a girl, we're naming her Clover. That's pretty far out compared to my other kids' names (Isaac & Ash, boy & girl), but I like it, anyway.

And, Erica, the name trend thing is pretty regional. I know that when I take my kids to the park, every other toddler is Jayden or Peyton, with a large smattering of Madisons and Morgans among the school-aged kids. Looking at the 2006 Social Security list of names, it seems it's not as popular nationwide as it is here in CA, or it was in GA. Jayden ranks as the 50th most popular name for male babies in the U.S. Nico ranks at #667.

Yeah, I think of Spears when I hear Sean, Preston, or Jayden... only because I like following her downward spiral *grins evilly*

Gavin... I think of the lead singer of Bush, he's hot!

And I could have been named Sky sad.gif
