Ghiii Vs. Rock Band

Guitar Hero III... Rock Band... what you guys think? personally i think both games will be phenomenal (sp?), but Guitar Hero doesnt look like it will be as monumental as GHII was.  Rock Band will be frieking awesome, and if you have no friends to play with, think of the replayability - all 4 instruments to play through!

I'm gonna pick up both, i'm looking forward more to Rock Band though, because that multiplayer will be ill as f***.

Also... GHIII has Through the Fire and the Flames by Dragonforce, i watched the video on youtube of edit: scorehero playing it on expert, i think i would develop carpal tunnel less than 30 seconds into that song.
edit2: also, a nice new thing abotu GHIII - the singers mouth actually mouths the words to the song, it doesn't just move up and down when he is "singing". i thought that was pretty coooool. Edited by SafeSearchOff

the drum set looks pretty sick for a video game. its got 5 tom/snare heads (just 5 circular heads), and a bass pedal, and i think i heard something about a hi-hat pedal, but just a pedal thats hooked to a hi-hat in game, not IRL.

i'd loce to lay down some bass riff's on those big-bass songs though, thats a nice feature. wonder how it will judge our signing ability...

rock band or GHIII?

i believe the rock band Bundle is $200, including game disc, two guitars, and the microphone. I'm pretty sure its confirmed that the drums arent included in the bundle, and are an additional $80. Rock Band will be on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. The Rock Band Guitar Controller(not sure if its the same for base) is a Fender Stratocaster, though i've heard negative things about it. The buttons aren't raised, rather inlead in the neck so that you cant really discern which button is which by feel, and you need bigger fingers. also, the faces of the buttons arent color coded, just the area above it on the neck, which i find wierd, but w/es.

the GHIII bundle is $100 for PS3 and Xbox 360, and $90 for Wii, it comes with the game and one Gibson SG replica guitar controller. The controller will have changable faceplates for customization.

I WANT TO PLAY DRAGONFORCE.... ERRRR

oh, also, if you purchased GHII for 360 and you have an Xplorer controller, they will be able to be used in BOTH games. and the rock band bundle only has 1 guitar controller...

further edit...
Raining Blood by Slayer is in GH3.

i'm sorry, maybe none of you heard me...
DRAGONFORCE IS IN GH!!! lol.
rock band will be equally ill, but i don't see DRAGONFORCE on the Rock Band set list...

I can 5 star everything except for Jordan and Six on guitar hero II, and the guys (specifically HellsAshes) on ScoreHero couldn't get past about 6% of TFAF when they went to activision.
In Co-Op mode, with both players on expert, the song has 6800 notes, roughly 13 per second.

Its going to be pointless for most people to even attempt to play that song.

i wont be able to play it on expert. maybe hard.
edit: did you see the video? thats some furious fretwork...

that video?
yeah.
but dont ever go back to hard. Once you can do beter than mid 80's on a song, you should be moving up to the next difficulty level, and you should never go back. you wont get better if you go back to easier stuff, you only get better by practicing harder ones.

well i originally beat medium with no difficulty at all, but it wasnt exactly a cakewalk. then i got through hard okay, normally getting stuck on 1 or 2 songs every tier, till tiers 7 and 8 which took like a full month to beat each. then i took on expert which i breezed through until the tier im stuck on now, i think tier 4 or 5. can't beat jessica and the thin lizzy song

Jessica and Bad Reputation?
Jessica is easy, it just takes a bit of practice to nail the ho/po, but after that its cake.
Bad reputation is just getting down alt-strumming, cause thats really the only way you'll ge it down quickly.
