MechAnt
So, I've never really used quicklites before for hookah so I dont know what is good or not. After extensive reading in the reviews section, its is quite clear that the choice of quicklites is up to the user but I really want to know, which ones are good? The Pharaoh's coals from southsmoke look promising seeing they are made in the EU but how do they compare to the 3kings?Since I'm taking my hookah to college, stove access wont be so easy so I'm having to convert to quicklites. Thanks for all your help

Akkbar
the best quicklites are golden 40mm. They last a long long time and you only need one for an average sized bowl per hour and a half (in my experience).
SafeSearchOff
I like 3K's and Starlights for QL coals. Starlights are hard to find though =/
MechAnt
I have a torch and whatnot but I really can't deny the convenience of a QL. So I'd like to stick to that path.Any word on those Pharaoh's QL?After some more searching, Akhla coals came up. Any good? MechAnt
Even more now!!!I just read up on Pegasus coals, are those are pretty well liked.I've had a pretty good past experience with Diamante QLs but they don't specialize in any one thing. They are decent at everything, but not particularly good at one. I like specializedI don't know what to choose!!!
SafeSearchOff
3K's. Just go with 3k's. safe, always good performance, no one dislikes them, readily available from anywhere.

MechAnt
Ok so it seems like 3Kings would be the winner here. Who sells them at great prices? 40mm or 33mm? Should i just buy one roll of EVERY QL I can find and just try them out?

MechAnt
So 33mm is ok for a regular bowl. Last time I used quick lites, I broke one piece in half before I lit it and put them opposite of each other. Is that a decent strategy? And does 3 halves suffice for a phunnel? (Its pretty much all I use now) That is, 3 halves of a 33mm, are two halves of a 40mm better? Edited August 15, 2007 by MechAnt

Sonthert
Three Kings are consistent and consistent is good. Expect sharp increases in Three Kings prices...perhaps supply shortages too. Wholesale price has been going up.
