Stew
get what you want, go on your own opinions. Glass and acrylic have their ups and downs. on one hand, glass is very elegant and traditional and on the other, an acrylic base won't shatter when dropped. If you are going to be using it in an environment where it is liable to be dropped or knocked over and broken, go for the acrylic. If you can keep everyone (and everything) around the hookah calm and careful then a glass base should do just fine.
mushrat
You could call them and ask for the dimensions. Assuming the stem parts are the same for both, it looks like the bottom of the pipe is closer to the bottom of the acrylic than it is with the glass, so the glass may be a bit taller. Hard to tell exactly how much taller beyond that. The acrylic is definitly wider. hope that helps....
yashman19
Not that you brought this up, but I would suggest getting the base with the widest bottom. Looking at your two pictures, which hookah do you think will be easier to pull over? The one that isn't as wide on the bottom. Just keep that in mind too, I would get the widest possible, as I have had my share of hookah pull-over disasters.
Blaqk20
From personal experience, I never like the quality of the glass paint for this particular hookah. After a few times of washing and using it, the paint seems to start to chip off, and eventually you will just have a clear vase. The glass vase is easier to break, but it also is a bit heavier compared to the acrylic base. Having a heavier or thicker base gives off a more solid smoke, soundwise. I would personally go with the acrylic, but only because the paint is off cheap craftsmanship on the glass vases. Hope that helps.
NERV
Personally, I will soon be ordering an acrylic ivory. I need something that is more portable than my 30 inch and I perfer a clear base simply because its easier to tell if it's 100% clean.
