Standard Mya Bowl

Its strange. I've gotten so used to getting a phunnel to smoke extremely well that I can't get the standard Mya Bowl to smoke well. I use the regular methods such as sprinkling the shisha in, not really pressing down on it, etc. However, once I start smoking it, the draw becomes very difficult and the middle of the bowl sinks down as if the shisha inside collapsed and made a mini sink hole. I hate that hard draw and the smoke never really reaches its full potential as the phunnel does so easily. Thanks for your help.

I always really liked the Mya bowls, and never had a problem smoking with them. Because they were so deep, I always made sure to have a little bit more space between the foil and the tobacco when I packed the bowl. I think if you put in too much, you might run into the problems you describe simply because of the depth. They also seemed to take a bit longer than regular bowls to get going, because of the increased distance between the foil and tobacco. Other than that, I dunno. I'm sure some others will chime in to help out.

That might be my problem. I'm used to filling up to the brim or near the brim. I'll try underpacking it a little more. Perhaps that'll help. Thanks

i'll agree, Mya bowls have al earning curve, but its howi started off so its like second nature to me. just pack it a little under the lip. you use QL's right?

i use 2 3k's on my Mya bowl (well, not anymore, but its how i used to). generally 1 is broken in half, and i take half off now and then.

I normally use Japs, but after trying out the Pharaoh's Elite QLs, I'll be using those from now on. So, two to start and then minus one half. I'll be trying this.

After you finish with the holes on the foil turn the bowl upside down and blow gently through the bottom

I do that already. The guy I bought my first hookah from taught me that. It still doesnt smoke well so my next session, I'm gonna take Ioannidis's advice and pack a little bit less.

whats the best hole configuration for these bowls? just random holes?
i will be using either 3kings quicklights or rolland easy-lite

Just read your FAQ post and it definitely looks like i've been overpacking the Mya Bowl. Thanks for your help and I'll try it again using your method.
