OPR234
Thats probably the purge valve... its a good thing if the ball bearing in there moves.
ASUSEAN1
yea is it the ball bearing moving or something else?
boomhauer
egyptians generally dont have one. its fine as they are hand made occasionally there will be a small piece of metal which will be where there is a gap behind the welds. dont worry as it wont do a thing other than make a noise. you can try to shake it out but i say its not worth the effort
ctsmo
yes it does have a ball bearing. its not in the stem but ive tried shaking it out but it doesnt come out. Edited August 20, 2007 by ctsmo

ctsmo
so should i exchange it?
boomhauer
i have a small fragment of something also in a gap in the stem which rattles around. not in the actual stem down otherwise it would be gone but its fine. i have not had a problem personally
Allia22
Bah, leave it. It just has the dual purpose as an annoying noise maker, and there's always a good use for those XD
ioannisds
It is nothing, and really you shouldn't put a company through the trouble of exchanging it for you. A LOT of Egyptians I have owned/used have had that exact same thing. I think what happens is when they weld all of the parts together, sometimes small amounts of solder drip down into the shaft, and hence your rattle. I really wouldn't worry about it at all dude. Life's too short.
ctsmo
i called the guy who i bought it from yesterday, the banned jandrhookahs.com. hes really nice and has awesome prices btw. he was really nice and said for me to bring in my shaft and he'll replace it. since he lives like 15mins away from me im just gonna go and get a perfect one and if they all make noise ill just keep this one then.
