Loresa
So I buy blackthorn jsut because the name sounds badass and when it arrives i smell it doesnt really smell like anything at all. i start it up my friends instantly hate it says it doesnt taste like anything i got a black licorish flavor out of it. I thought i was doing it wrong so i went to my friend's house and he packs it in his mya med standard bowl with a mya QT and it tastes like nothing again. Granted i could have packed it wrong but he has been smoking for a couple years, member of this forum, and ive smoked tangiers with him before and he knows how to pack the stuff.Any suggestions? anyone bought the stuff and got a taste out of it? i checked the product reviews and they said it tasted like berry.. blackberry and very berryish. which annoyed me... i want to taste berry... sdmopar
Did you let it acclimate? Any chance of humidity shock? Id start there...
tlmasonaea
Blackthorn is always one of my favorite flavors. It's not a very strong flavor in my experience with it, so if that's what you're looking for, you're searching in the wrong place. The Blackthorn is light, subtle, and delicious.I would definitely start with the acclimation. If that's not it, make sure you're packing the bowl right, i.e. make the tobacco in the bowl look the same consistency as the tobacco in the bag/gladware/whatever container you keep it in. Make sure you mix the tobacco up before packing and be sure not to over/under heat it.
symptom CY
It's definitely a very mild flavor that can be hard to discern. Mine tastes like black pepper
Calcartman
I liked it when i tried it. Sorta like a woodsy scent/flavor.

You're not going to taste the root beer on the inhale, just the exhale and even then, only slightly. I love the subtle flavors, in fact, I'm going to go have some blackthorn and watch a storm
