Looking For A First Hookah. This One?

Widow Hookah on HookahHookah

I passed by that and I was thinking about buying it. This is going to be my first hookah. Has anybody bought this and can anybody tell me if this is good or not?

Does the size of the hookah really matter much? I don't want to buy a 9 incher and have it suck or not have good clouds.

Also, does HookahHookah only take credit or can I order with a debit card?

Please I need an answer quick because I am trying to buy a hookah and have it arrive by next week. If someone can suggest/recommend another hookah then that would be great too! Edited by anddy

NO! Spend a little more and get a good quality, single-hose Egyptian instead. Any of the Khalil Mamoun hookahs at pimpyourhookah.com would be a good choice. Hookah Company has a couple too, but it seems like their service has come into question lately. Social Smoke has great quality Egyptians as well. Do not waste your money on the Widow. They are a pain in the ass to get smoking correctly, and will ruin your enjoyment because of the struggle. Get a good Egyptian for your first. You could be falling down drunk when you set it up, and it will still smoke well. And Hookah Hookah... meh. Do a search on them too.

oh crap. It took too long for any answers and I just went ahead and bought it. Do you think I would be able to call in and cancel the order? Wow, I should've been a little more patient.

As for the no ebay, I'm glad you said that because I was really thinking about buying one off of ebay. Why no ebay, can I ask?

Well I'm going to try to call them up and see if I can cancel the order. Can someone show me to a hookah that they would recommend? The reason that one caught my eye was because it was inexpensive, and all the stuff it came with. I'm really not looking to spend that much money.

Also, can someone tell me specifically what is wrong with the widow?, in case I end up not being able to cancel it.

when it comes to buying a hookah, most people here will agree that it is best to purchase a quality product from a reputable vendor. there are many vendors that have reviews on this forum. do some research and choose the vendor that best suits your needs.

when it comes to ebay, you just never know what you're gonna get.

How about the pumpkin hookahs from hookahlife? Are hookahs under 12" even worth buying? And I'm still wondering what exactly is wrong with the widow.

you get what you pay for.. with that being said.. if you want a quality hookah tht is small.. try a mya qt.. its less than 50 bucks.. use the forum discount.. and you wont regret buying it

dont get the pumpkin. it is exactly what the price is; cheap.
i was looking for a small hookah that was portable for when i drive or go to a friend's place and i came across the pumpkin for $22.99 at a local shop. i used it a few times (no more than 10 times) and washed it after every use. then i discovered rust coming out of the stem where the hose goes in when i flushed water through it. i have retired that unit and ordered a mya qt as a replacement.

Well I was nicely recommended a Mya QT off of hookahlife so I'm thinking about buying that. I have seen quite a few people around here with it and they look satisfied, I think. What does everybody think about that choice.

I just wanted to say thanks to all the people here helping me out with the hookah scene. I've tried other forums but this seems to be the most helpful and responsive.

Oh great. I guess there's no way for me to find a quality hookah at the price range I am standing in.

Would you mind elaborating? What is wrong with the base? Is it that "thin bottom" thing that I read about in the reviews? That shouldn't be a big problem, if I was careful, should it?

I'm new so I would really appreciate any feedback right now. I just wanted to know if you guys can give me a reason instead of just pointing out that it is bad. But for what you said Allia, I'm going to assume you are talking about the bottom of the base being thin. That shouldn't be that much of a problem should it?

I cant speak on new mya bases, but i will say my QT has been knocked over plenty of times without problems, and been banged against sinks and walls.
The widow hookah, as with the pumpkin, is cheap and poorly built. One of my friends bought a widow and the hose tasted like rust on the first smoke.

I'm not sure what your price range is, but for 50-75$ you should be able to get a very very decent smoking, though small, hookah.
Mya Acrylics are also quite nice (though slightly more expensive and bigger), and they're hard to break.

A K-M egyptian will be nice as well, but they are quite tall.
