Pharaoh

Recommended Posts

I just got my Pharaoh from H-S, when it came to the door i was so excited.

Then i open my package and pull out the body and i was full of disappointments. I took out the body and it was as light as a stick. on the picture it looks like good metal sad.gif.

Then my tongs were broken and i didn't receive any coal. The only good thing i wasn't disappointed about is the Namour Hose.

If any one here was going to consider getting a Pharaoh don't get it, put in $20 more for a Glyph.

I have a hookah from a local store i think its Syrian not sure the body is like 50x as heavy and its amazing, one of the best hookahs i have seen. The pharaoh still pulls fine and fine flavor but i know the heavier the body is the better it is.

Not necessarily dude. Mya stems are heavier than most, but anyone who knows anything would probably pick a well made Egyptian over them any day of the week. Weight does not = quality, and likewise quality does not = weight.

Since when did hating on Mya become the new fad? They used to be hot shit around here, didn't they?

They are pretty, for sure, and think this is where all the love originally came from. And they are built pretty well. But I think after some years of having lots of people smoke them, the good old traditional Egyptian style has weathered the storm and still comes out on top. Not that Myas are terrible, but they are not the best either (like they were believed to be at one time).

nah trust me, metal quality that i got will only last me for good couple of month (flavour wise).

i prefer Egyptians over myas any day, i agree on that. but sometimes you can tell hookah by the stem quality.

I want to agree with you in principle, but my personal experience leads me away from that. I bought a 23" egyptian from HC a couple of months ago and when I received it, it was really light compared to my other pipes, (BTW, I own five; one MYA Bambino, three egyptians and the AF 26") and I found that it just doesn't smoke as well. Maybe it's just a coincidence. I know it shouldn't affect the smoking quality, but, at least in my case, it seemed to. I like my other, heavier hookahs better.

brass is actually not that light...aluminum is however /shrug

the density of brass on average is around 8.4 - 8.75 g/cm^3
aluminum on the other hand is 2.70 g/cm^3.

however, the core might be brass while the rest of it aluminum ?
