imfromirvine
hey everybody,i just got a brand new mya acrylic 2 hose (it's pink...) and i've been hookahing quite a bit since i got it. last night, i decided to bring out the oldie but goodie after nine from al waha. great session and when i was done, i packed another bowl of al fakher melon and all i could taste was chocolate mint!!!!! i cleaned out the entire hookah and everything, new h20 and i can still taste the chocolate mint. so what do i do to get it out of my hookah??? never had a problem with this is my old mya mini...thanksjonny
clickhea
wash entire hookah with vinegar, lemon juice, bakingsoda scrub and let soak in hot water
boomhauer
chocolate is a stronger flavor like cappuccino which will stick with your hookah for a bit. do as clickhea said and it will kill any smell in it. if i got a horrible smell in mine i put in some 1 part vinegar to 6 parts water (stronger than normal) and let it sit overnight and the smell is always gone
Calcartman
Does the actual hookah smell like after-nine? Wash it.You guys are all missing the big issue. My hookah rarely smells like the flavors i smoke. The hose however, does.If you have an extra hose, use it.If not, if your hose is washable, wash it (then immediately and repeatedly blow through it, ideally use compressed air).If not, and your hose isn't washable, deal with it and keep smoking, it will eventually go away. boomhauer
my first flavor ever was cappuccino and i cleaned it well (vinegar, lemon, baking soda, and a salt scrub) byt it still smelled and gave a cappuccino flavor. 7 or so sessions later it was gone

Kae
I would suggest having spare hoses for those really strong flavors. I've found mint, coffee, chocolate, and floral flavors stick to the hose more than others. We ditched all of our unwashable hoses, and made them out of clear vinyl tubing from the hardware store (super easy, I'll have to post in the how-to, heh). Our hoses cost us about $3 apiece this way, and we can afford to have several. As for cleaning, we use 1 part vinegar to 8 parts water, and it completely refreshes our hookah (we have an acrylic hookah, which I am told holds smell and flavor more than glass). Frequently, we are out of vinegar, but we always have vodka on hand (priorities, you know ), and we use the same 1 part vodka to 8 parts water to clean. Works every time =)Also, I hafta say, good job getting the A9 to stick; I get hardly any smell or flavor out of mine =( Well, nothing resembling chocolate, or mint ~.^
hookah hippie
seems like drinking the vodka would work better then you wouldn't notice the taste

I know because i replaced my pals MYA hose with the tubing and the coil inside was rusted to Hell. Although he had his hose longer than me, but still I don't want to think that my hose with look like that some day.Question what size tubeing did you use? 1/2 OD or 3/4 OD
ahwahoo2006
Vodka, vinegar, lemon juice, and baking soda all work to remove unwanted smells from hookahs.

It's about half an inch across, outside diameter (is that what OD means?). It fit very snugly on the end of the mouth piece part of my old hose, but I zip-tied it, just in case. The other end fits VERY tightly into the hose port of my hookah, with a grommet. It's actually kind of annoying once in a while, because I have such a hard time getting it OUT, lol...but I'm willing to deal with that to have clean hoses I've also used the vinyl tubing with a male plastic tip coverer thing as the mouthpiece...but that def took more work to get airtight. Still, it was much cheaper than buying a new hose, just for the mouthpiece, heh.We also used Mya hoses, but I really got tired of the taste not being clean. I cut it open, and it was disgusting! We had only had our hoses for 3 months.
HookahCulture
Color code your hoses for the flavors!Mint, cappuccino, grape, double apple (and other anise concentrates) and lighter fruits. You can get away with the grape with the other fruit hose if you don't smoke grape often, but keep grape to the grape hose if you smoke a lot of grape.I myself use the Jordanian washable hoses and I only smoke fruit flavors. OPR234
Every time I've had this problem it was because I didnt clean my bowl well enough, you really have to get down in those holes and up from under the inside of it.

Dekon
I found some Comet scratch free powder stuff which is like baking soda, i guess (picture below). Anyways i was wondering if i could use it on my hookah stem and base. Also it's a all purpose cleaner so my hopes are up a bit.
mushrat
im not so sure about the BLEACH part...just use soemthing natural or smoke it a few times and the flavour will go away on its own.
Dekon
All i have is dish soap, clorox, and comet. I also found a fuck ton of chemicals under my sink but it's to clean the tub and toilet n what not.Edit : I found apple cider vinegar, i just wiki'd it and it's super acidic according to them.QUOTE Apple ciderApple cider vinegar, otherwise known simply as cider vinegar, is made from cider or apple must, and is often sold unfiltered, with a brownish-yellow color; it often contains mother of vinegar. It is currently very popular, partly due to its alleged beneficial health and beauty properties (see below). Due to its acidity, apple cider vinegar can be very caustic, even burning the throat. If taken straight (as opposed to usage in cooking), it should be diluted (e.g. with fruit juice) before drinking. Others dilute it with warm water and some add honey.[4] There have been reports of acid chemical burns of the throat in using the pill form.
