evo8 Posted August 24, 2007 Share Posted August 24, 2007 Hi Guys and gals,I recently got new mya hookah. And for some odd reason it was making me quite sick(light head and stomach pain). So after the third time im like what the hell. I took it all apart and i found a large piece of glue in the tube the goes into the base. It was about 8 to 10 inches long and 1 inch wide. I havent smoked it since then yet. But is it possible that the glue was the cause of the sickness? I was using layalina mixed fruit and the second time I used nakhla banana. Both had the same affect. leadpipecinch21 Posted August 24, 2007 Share Posted August 24, 2007 have you smoked shisha before? if not, you might not be used to the lack of oxygen/nicotine in your system caused by the hookah. if that glue was right close to where the bowl sits, though, it could have melted a touch and caused that. HookahPrincess Posted August 24, 2007 Share Posted August 24, 2007 Maybe try it again now after takin the glue out? I don't think it's usually the hookah itself that gets people sick. I know a few people who just can't smoke hookah. Try a diff hookah and see if you get those same feelings, or try diff coals and tobacco. There are a lot of factors that could play in. I have smoked the layalina before and also soex herbal. I have taken the glue out and ill try it again tonight after i go get a bowl. It had a small crack in it and i finally gave way. lilbrownindian Posted August 24, 2007 Share Posted August 24, 2007 i had that same exact glue in my downstem, and i did get sick, one day i used really hot water to clean the hookah because i thought it had germs or something, and behold when i looked in the downstem there was something peeling, i scrubbed like hell and it came out, a strip of glue which started to turn brown. I almost smoked my new hookah while it had bits of styrofoam stuck in the downstem (from being jammed in the shipping box full of packing peanuts) but luckily I caught that in the nick of time. Ok all I cleaned it out last night and got about a 2 hour smoke going on. Didnt fell sick at all. So i think the glue removal or the cleaning did the trick. Thanks for all your help guys and gals.
