Uh What The Hell Would Cause This

its the second day iv had my mya staff 4 hose hookah and i just got my funnel bowl today so I packed a bowl and me and 5 friends smoked. One of my friends walked to the bathroom hit a short table and backed up and walked into it and fell over. He is a small guy buy shit he smokes hookah with us all the time. I was fine untill i got towards the end of the session and my heartrate was going like crazy I could feel it throbing in my head and neck I have never felt that before.

I think i might be sick since i had a big headache in the morning but would hookah cause this?

You body is telling you to slow down. Listen to your body. It is very common to get head rushes and be light headed and dizzy. You get these things from power hitting or smoking to long. You can also get this way and even worse (like throwing up) feeling like your heart is skipping beats etc. You may also be getting CO2 poisoning. Make sure to purge your chamber every once and a while, and make sure if you use QL's they are bright red or grey before you put them on the bowl (Not black) Also make sure you aren't smoking the last bit of the bowl. I have found out that if i'm winding down a bowl just let it die. I for some reason always get sicker at the end of a dying bowl. ( I think it has to do something with it being burnt)

I suggest you slow down, don't power hit, or try not to impress everyone with rings every 10 seconds. Pass the hose , share it . It's not going anywhere. I also suggest eating before or during your session and drinking lots of water. A lot of people don't realize this, but smoking hookah dehydrates your body faster. So if you follow these guidelines you should be ok.



*edited to add* I get very bad headaches the night i smoke or the next morning if i don't pace myself. You probably are experiencing the same thing. If this continues after you have gotten rid of every other element, i suggest seeing a dr. I did and found out I had low blood pressure. That mixed with hookah smoking compounds even the slightest hookah buzz and makes it painful. Edited August 25, 2007 by kornkitten42

im used to havign 1 hoses on my hookah but this one has 4 so when theres not a lot of people theres no need to pass it which i figure is what caused that. Your post was verry imformative and i appreciate it.

my initial thought with headache or lightheadedness with starbuzz is that you were smoking on an empty or slightly empty stomach. also, i have smoked stuff that didnt agree with what my body had just ingested. if you eat before or snack durring and drink something non-alcoholic, or water with an alcoholic drink you should be just fine. also, just sitting/laying down and getting up can give you a headrush, smoking hookah can only heighten this possibility.

only reason i can conjure up is breathing too much smoke and not enough oxygen. other than that, tainted coals?

starbuzz is SUPER washed, so no way its a nic buzz unless u hit it mad crazy for like 30 minutes straight.
