Diament Finger Coal...

Recommended Posts

Ok, Originally i'd said finger coals were good. I would like to retract that.....
The last case I got was not too good. The quality of the materials has really taken a dive. Some of the bags i got even sparked starting like quicklites. I don't know whats going on but i'd suggest stayong away from them. I have 7 bags i refuse to even use nnow.

Good thing im switching to the exotica. we'll see how long they can keep the quality going.

Brown: yep, that's one of the problems I've noticed. Grey ash instead of white with some of the bags.

The exoticas are square fingers. I got a box to try out and they are very nice so I ordered 8 CASES for the shop. We'll see how they do.

I've noticed that charcoal spark and snap more in the summer...they also smell different.

Is it possible thats all it is?

On the other hand, Diamante is known for changing the quality of their coal...like their Japanese-Style used to be fair...now they're awful.

I just bought a bag of them from hookahcompany and I was actually really surprised at how good the quality was. All the sticks were intact, really smooth, and dense. They were even packed vertically in the bag so that I can slide them out easily. They don't spark, they hold heat well, the ash comes off cleanly, and they taste like nothing. The only problem I had was that they have a tendency to split in half (down the center, longitudinally) but that doesn't bother me all that much and it's probably because I am getting them super-hot on an electric stove.

Sorry you got bad batches, but good batches are still out in the wild.

Normally, changes in quality are quick and overnight, like a light switch being thrown as most of these products are just packaged under a brand name by a manufacturer. If they change the manufacturer, the quality may change, but generally, most manufacturers only produce one quality of product. A good example is chemicals. Many chemical companies produce different grades of the same synthetic chemicals, they will have different purities listed (90%, 95%, 99.8%, etc.) In fact, its all the same chemical, most of the time, they just sell the higher grades for more money. Same thing for headlights with lifetime warranties...same headlight, just paying more for the warranty. Most manufacturers turn out one product and just package it differently.
