Mya Qt Or Bambino?

Recommended Posts

I am looking at a small Hookah to purchase this evening and I really like the Mya QT and Bambino. I am having a tuff time deciding which one to get and where to get it from. Maybe if you have both or have smoked from both please give me you opinions on the two and also which site has the best deal along with good customer service. Thanks .

Hi Water,

We have had the opportunity to sample almost every Mya hookah available and the QT and Bambino are probably two of the better models. There are only a few differences between the two. The Bambino has a larger vase, so you should be able to draw more smoke out of it easier. However, it has 2 disadvantages to the QT: 1. You cannot expand to a 2 hose model as the hose adapters do not fit and 2. Its Cloisonne stem is more delicate than the QT's.

Other than the above there is not much different about them. If you want something fancier go with the Bambino (which also comes with a custom Hard Case), if you want something thats expandable and slightly more durable go with the QT (which usually comes with a wire case).

On a side note, I dont believe anyone will be carrying the new Mya Chic, Solo or Mini for atleast a few weeks as most distributors have not started receiving it yet. Also, the Chic will be listed probably at close to twice the price of the QT so there is a price difference, but if you really want it you can get it from Mya Saray Direct.

Hope this helps.wink.gif

Thanks Mike for the review. That was very helpful. Seems the QT would be a better if I was wanting to expand to a two hose but I have a Vortex so i have that when friends are around but the Bambino is a very different piece. Desicions desicions.

except the chic glass is shitty. atleast the qt and the bambino is made out of the old stuff that is some what solid.. too bad the quality control sucks though.. seriously mya has gone down hill.. only half there models are worth buying.. and i will continue to buy those ones because I love the warranty and looks.. but i'd stay away from everything else mya is pushing out..

god i love the mya 22" glass that has actually last 2+ years

The glass on my replacement QT base is some of the shittiest glass I have ever seen. There are small air bubbles all over, some in places like the edges that look very fragile. I also remember people complaining about how their bases weren't flat on the bottom and such. I definitely regret being talked into buying a QT as my first hookah, its the single most overrated product I have ever owned.

a perfect example of myas "great" quality control.. god dammit..

mya only has a couple good hookahs left..

1. the acrylic

2.the pineapple

3.these bases

4.and the 22" glass.. not the bohemian style (those suck)

5. also probably the crystals but no experience with that one..

-the qt;s are alright.. but they are over-rated and i would suggest buying one from a store you can visit, to check for impurities.. i went through three boxes before i picked out my most recent one

besides those hookahs, every other mya hookah is horrible. you are going to get shitty soft glass, with imperfections, and the thing is bound to break (even if you baby the thing) Edited by ASUSEAN1

well there is many that have had their QT's for awhile and really like them and haven't had any problems. It is all in what someone prefers. Plus mine stays at home mainly and wont be traveling. Edited by waterboi

bump.. i wish mya would read this

Some people won't learn. They're going to see the prity shyniness of a mya and not care if it dies within a few months.

If you dont mind, will you please refer me some other small hookahs that are very nice and a good quality. I am kinda new to purchasing my own hookahs. Thanks.

Is there any set reason why you want a small hookah? for a starter i'd just get a regular sized egyptian as some sort. A full size hookah may seem more intimidating as a first, but in reality they're easier to learn heat management and everything.

agreed. i prefer larger anyway. my next hookah will definetly be bigger, not smaller!

Just get one large one (Al Fakher 36") and one small (Mya Bambino) to have the best of both worlds. Al Fakher for parties, group of friends or something along those lines. Bambino for solo or two sessions, long car trips, camping, quick sessions, etc.

sure but like i said you need to inspect it for air bubbles in the glass before you get it.. and not everyone can do tht

Well I already have a Vortex 27". I want a smaller one to add to my collection and would be easier for me sometimes to just smoke out of the small one.

Yea I really wish I had that ability to do that. There isn't any Hookah shops around here( which really sucks). I guess it is in the hands of the person shipping it to me. Well these wont be my last as I am pretty sure I will buy another. How good does MYA stand behind there glass ?
