Happened to me the day after I got it ohmy.gif

Needless to say, hookah-shisha sent me 2 replacement bases free.

Thats EXACTLY how ours is. Only difference is a large portion of the circle is missing as well. Kinda looks like the V cut you put in the top of a pumpkin for carving. laugh.gif Except this V cut goes halfway down the side.

I will third that!...That is identical to mine! It happened to me when I was installing the stem and it barely tapped the glass while holding it...the entire thing broke off!...

I am not too bumbed as I am pretty carefull with it and if a vase breaks once every 3 months or so then so be it...they are cheaper than the shisha! i will probably buy 2 more vases just to have as backups because I really love this little hookah!

This is why I bought the Bambino...I wanted to try out an even smaller Mya to see the difference!

I bought my QT around last christmas, and the base is almost too thick, oddly enough. I bought a backup base shortly after, before knowing how often they break, and it's noticeably thinner but not super thin... I haven't had it break at least. I still love the hookah.

Yeah, "Glottis2"...hopefully anyone that purchases or already has a QT will do this!...I can see having at least a minimum of 2 vases for the QT just so it will last you a long time and you won't be torqued when one of them breaks (like I was)!

EEEEEEEE.....I don't know about that. I could easily buy a $150.00-$300.00 hookah and still just as easily break the vase by dropping it, twisting it wrong or by what we all did with the Myas. I honestly think all of the other parts for the QT are super high quality products and will last a lifetime!...if all I have to worry about is a broken vase once in awhile then no biggie!

I ALSO think that there are dealers out there selling crappy/refurbished vases from Mya..I only know this because I got one from a company here on the forums and I would have bet money on it!...you could clearly see large irregular bubble formations and areas where it looked like someone tried to scab new glass on to fit it?

Bottom line is....Myas Quality is insane, glass breaks...who cares! no one can make a glass vase that will not break because of stupidity biggrin.gif...given the quality of the glass I guess. The Mya QT's vases are cheap in price probably because they are cheaply made now...? who knows.

What do you guys mean by "common chambers" anyway? I don't see how it's any different from the fundamental mechanics behind any other hookah.

Also, about it being too thick (haha), I say that because the opening at the top of the vase is quite small, and I can't fit any ice cubes in at all. Actually, upon typing this, maybe they started making the glass thinner as a quality control thing because it was sometimes overly thick in the past, but they executed their QC plan very poorly and ended up with large batches of fragile bases. I personally do not think that they are all that thin?..for the size of them I think they are perfect. i think it is a design flaw in the vase style. If the vase was solid glass with no ridges then the thing would probably not shatter like they do. It's like creating a score line in the glass everywhere!

"Common Chambers"...you got me on that one...? I know that the Mya QT's stem does change size midway but who the POOP cares biggrin.gif Smoke the Biotch!

its funny how everyone remembers bad things said more than good. only about 80% of Mya bases break. not good, but definately not like "oh shit my hookahs gonna break on the first day!"

I run a lounge, as many of you know, I am exceedingly careful with my jars, never put hookahs on tables, make sure they're tight as hell on the shank. Not including dropping them, I have only had two jars break out of about 60 jars I've owned. One was in the back of my pickup, in a box and rolled out of the box and got all smashed up. The other one didn't really shatter...it developed a crack that got worse and worse until it started leaking water...of course, the jar was 10 years old (the first one I ever bought sad.gif ). I have several jars that are at least 6,7,8,9 years old, still fine. Any breakage rate that high sounds like B.S. to me.

Somebody wanted a hookah that was less than $45 that was better than a Mya? Frankenstein, I'm looking at you...

I didn't even really look that hard.

I will grant you, the fatota isn't better...but it is half the price. Edited by Sonthert

You know, maybe they just need to make an acrylic mya QT. I'd pay for that. My oldre QT is sill just fine, but in the fututre, after hearing all this.... the bases sound iffy. I htink Mya should offer a replacement vase with each QT, or have an acrylic option.

"Sonthert"...I am VERY familiar with the Hookahs that Hookah company sells and all that you listed are nothing compared to the Mya QT?..Do you own any of these? I actually own the Blue Egyptian and the Painted genie and they are both CRAP!

I also purchased the $45.00 Painted Red one from them and that was CRAP!...I would not even put any of those hookahs in the same class UNLESS you personally have owned them and compared them?...

You say that you run a lounge?...Do you use any of the hookahs that you listed saying that they are qualified as being better than the QT?...

Not pissing on your stats man...just wondering why those links are to junk hookahs that I personally own 2 of which. I only stand behind the QT because for the money you cannot beat it. I have purchased several hookahs now from these companies to design my holders and I was not too thrilled with a lot of them!

North Smoke (south smoke) actually makes nice hookahs but they are not cast iron, they are straight thin walled stainless. Their glass is insanely thick too!

I too can pull hundreds of links of hookahs for under $45.00 but the question is....are they worth it and they need to be comapred to a higher quality one for newbies...

I am a little defensive of this because I was a newbie here looking for quality and was directed to CRAP! I was only after ordering 3-6 of them that I realized there are major differences in the quality for $45.00 or less (DUH!)...

It would just be nice to stop directing new smokers to garbage for hard earned money huh.gif

I DO have to admit, I have a crappy Egyptian too and it DOES hit very nice...I am just not keen on quality. The Mya's are nice hitting hookahs too and I would say judging solely on the smoke...they are in comparison. I am in the fabrication business and I always look at the craftsmanship first wink.gif

I think the jars breaking so frequently should speak something to this point. I don't think that there's anything all that wrong with QTs, I think for the money, small Egyptian hookahs are better. I do not use them in my lounge, but I do purchase them for resale, which is a pretty good endorsement...I will admit that some of the more recent ones are getting worse, but last year's stuff is still pretty good. I find QTs to be better constructed, in some ways, but overall, I nod in the direction of the Egyptians...bearing in mind they tend towards being cheaper. It QTs were $30 it wouldn't be a race at all.
