I had a huge talk with a marine that just got back from his second tour of duty in Iraq. He had some interesting ideas regarding American politics. He is a pure capitalist which makes for some interesting debates being that I'm a socialist. The system that he supports works... if you're from a well off family and all you care about is making money regardless of what it does to
other people or to society as a whole.  What disturbs me most about the whole thing is that our political decisions are basically thanks to a few rich guys that think that their morals are somehow better, regardless of equality. That means that if someone happens to get really rich, this prejudices often transfer over to government policy.

For example, when the Israeli-Lebanese conflict was going on, the US stayed out of the situation, despite our "peace keeping" policies, in hopes that rapture would occur.

Does that scare anyone else here?

I don't align myself with political parties but if you compare my policies with them I'd prolly fall under Libertarian more so than anything else. Fairly liberal on social issues (I have my personal beliefs of course) and very conservative on economics (my economic school of thought is monetarist). Either way, disillusioned people can say that "love makes the world go 'round" all they like but the harsh reality is, "money makes the world go 'round". Curses to mankind's natural instinct for self interest (not greed cause that's slightly different!!)
