Well, I took the plunge and spent my tobacco money on a Renaissance get-up that I might end up wearing to my wedding in place of a tuxedo.

Yes, that is right, I purchased my very first kilt. Unfortunately, I could not afford to pay for the entire get-up. I could only afford the socks, Scottish guard hat, hat pin, kilt weight pin, and kilt. I still need an appropriate shirt and the sash to go with my kilt. I have the Scottish Blackguard tartan. My family, on both sides, have their own tartan but it cost nearly 600 bucks for the fabric as well as proof that I belong to the specific clans.

I have the future Mrs.' approval, but now I just have to wonder if it is worth spending the extra 100 bucks on more kilt-gear or to rent a disgusting tux.

What's wrong with Tuxes? Mostly, they are expensive and uncomfortable. Nothing says sweaty like a fat man wearing an undershirt, a button up shirt, a cumber bun, vest, and jacket!

No one in my family has been married in a kilt as long as I can remember, but it might be a nice tradition to start back up again.
