Three Kings Coals

I recently purchased two boxes of Three King Coals and most of them are cracked or crumbling and they don't burn as effective as my previous box. The Date on the rolls and the box insert is Nov 2006. Is this the expiration date or the manufacturing date?

pack a bowl, light em up and try em out. If they work well, keep using em, if they dont work well or have a bad taste, toss em out.

call the company you got them from.. get a new box

All of the Three Kings coals I've purchased have had that same date on them, I've never had any problems. I'm pretty sure it is a manufacturing date, seeing how coals don't necessarily "go bad". I have, however, noticed that some boxes of coals I get burn differently from others. They always work fine though, its just variances on how it ashes and how quickly they light up. I wouldn't worry about it, seeing how they will still allow you to smoke!

I don't know, several people I have talked to in the business have said they lose their potency after awhile.
